God has judged me by making me trip over a knee-high obstacle and incapacitate myself.

I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, GOD!

Call me judgmental, but that was the most disappointing Rapture I've ever been through. People just kept making Rapture jokes like there was no tomorrow. For heaven's sake, that stuff is hard to come up with and I had like nothing, so I pretty much felt left behind. But you know what? To hell with it all, the day's over and I'm going to bed.

`cause you were naughty

On the other hand I`m a living punishment to my parents because they were naughty.

Pfft, try being at a golf course caddying for four hours on the day of the rapture. I probably heard every dumb rapture joke known to man by the time I got out of there. At least I'm not blamed if my player hits a bad shot though, they'll just make a rapture joke and keep playing.

Re: Optimism

Yeah, I overheard from some of the angels around here that some big event is supposed to happen on Oct. 21. I tried to get some information on the Mayan one, but no one would tell me a thing.

The best part is how many times the bible the world ending whenever God says so. I mean, isn't that gonna scare more people?

Interesting how "God's Miracles" grow less and less stunning over time. Creation of the universe? I'll admit, it's hard to get much bigger than the foundation of reality. Then we have countless massive slaughterings of nonbelievers with brimstone and fire. Wowzer, grim and dark, not really fitting for an all-loving God, but admittedly a pretty impressive feat there. Appear as a burning bush? Um... sure, why not. Bushes don't usually catch on fire and talk to you. Appearing on the grilled cheese sandwiches of crazy old people. Uh... huh. Right.

tl;dr One of religion's larger roots is the lack of understanding of the world around us. Along with a variety of other things, but I'll cut it short here in case I'm accidentally kindling up a flamewar.

Not really, because nearly all people on forums are atheists. You'd think that statistically there should be more christians but they're too busy socialising and acting like "sheep".
