A simple exploration game, made with RPG maker 2003. Best described as creepy, disturbing, and mysterious. One of the most fun games I have played in awhile (and one of the most original).

Like Cave Story, it was a one man project. Here's a link to where you can download an english version: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3a5w8ou1gd29quu

Or you can download it from the fansite's rapidshare link: http://www.theneitherworld.com/yumenikki/links.htm

Also I put together a soundtrack for it from the mp3s/wavs in the data folder (looped them for 30 seconds, faded out some of them, etc), here's a link to the zip if you want: Yume Nikki Soundtrack

I'm downloading it now. It reminds me a little bit from the description of a game called Octagon made in ZZT.

This game looks interesting, I'm torrenting it right now as well. Only time shall tell what it is really about though.

EDIT: fuck it's on rapidshit, can someone upload it to megapload or mediafire?

This is a great game; I'd recommend it to anyone. You play as a girl who can explore an entire abstract landscape in her dreams. Very unique, quite puzzling, and certainly takes a bit of thinking to get around to the rarely seen parts.

I updated the first post with a mediafire link, since woodenrat was complaining about the link on the fansite.

You weren't supposed to say that aloud. It was obvious those two were massively underplaying the game so that when new people started playing it they would be fucked in the head.

Fixed. And yeah you're kind of right.

Although originally when I made this thread the first post was much longer and more descriptive, but then when I went to submit it the forums decided that I had taken too long and logged me out, which meant that I lost the beautiful post I typed up. This has happened to me so many times too.

That used to happen to me too, but now I just stay logged in permanently. Still, I think I used to just hit Back on my browser and my post would still be there?

It depends on your browser. I know that works in Google Chrome, I don't think it works on Firefox or IE.

Alright I tried playing it. Got a few abilities, apparently I can leave them in the door room. But should I? Or are they supposed to be used in the next door rooms?

Keep them all with you, because some need to be used to find others. Drop the effects in the Nexus when you have all of them.
