I don't really like Spelunky either. I massively prefer strategic roguelikes to action-oriented ones. If I fuck up and die permanently, I want it to be because of a mistake I can learn from for the next run. With Spelunky it's just a matter of getting good at platforming and reacting quickly, which requires a lot of mistakes being made. Not fun in a roguelike.

No, with spelunky it's definitely about learning what exactly will kill you and what won't. Reaction time isn't actually much of a factor as long as you're playing cautiously in that game, which you really should be or else you're going to die very quickly.

Actually I found a game that universally hated (not et)

It is........
The how to train your dragon mo on steam! I read a ton of reviews and every one was negative. The few ones that "would recommend" were all sarcastic like: graphics are great if you just upgraded from Atari 2600

okay, maybe its just personal preference... but swapnote just felt like a watered down version of flipnote studio to me.

It was meant to replace pictochat, not flipnote. If you're gonna compare it to anything, at least compare it to that.

They have a version of flipnote for 3DS. It recently came out.

I didn't really see the purpose of PictoChat. You had to be in the same room as the other person in real life, so why even bother?
Swapnote made sense.

it was still fun...

swapnote was neat until they removed all spotpass functionality...
goddammit perverts who abused the system, this is why we can't have nice things

I thought the spotpass removal had to do with swear words. Nintendo knew Nikki would be of /service/ to all so they didn't care about that.

Well Nintendo is the most kid friendly console maker, and they dont want some big scandal like "Oh my god they allowed cussing!"

If they had Spotpass and Pictochat connected on say...a PS Vita, no one would really care.

I'm kinda upset that I'm not allowed to view communities for games rated M, just because I'm 13.

Nintendo should not decide what I'm allowed to view, and if my parents are okay with me viewing that stuff, Nintendo should let me. Parents exist for a reason.

ESRB exists for a reason too...assigning high ratings for games that an 8 year old can play

Five Nights at Freddy's was disappointing.

I played it for 5 minutes, listening to the "tutorial man" through the radio and then suddenly the fox animatronic came out of nowhere and killed me. I don't see what's fun about a game that doesn't actually tell you how to play, or rather, properly convey to you the gameplay. It also wasn't very scary.
