Anyone hear about the new version of Windows? Microsoft for some reason skipped windows 9...but anyway, there is a start menu (yay!!!) and you can download an early developmental copy here.

They say that "only every other version of windows is good", and windows 8 blows (I own it). Does that mean they skipped over the good version and went straight for the suck?

nah, iirc it's windows 10 because some programs activate a compatibility mode for win95/98 by checking for "windows 9" at the start of the OS and that would be problematic

Well if there's a way to make sure it works out perfectly with minimal effort then why would you do a ton of bullshit on old software instead

So the name makes sense I guess. I mean, if it helps them to name it this then I don't have a problem with it but it just seems weird to give it a name that will confuse millions of people who aren't aware of this issue.

I actually got it 2 days ago and its great! Thte look and feel of Windows 10 makes me want to refrain from reverting my laptop to Windows. 8.1 as long as possible. 9/10
(It still has a lot of bugs, since, of course, its a developing build(and this is not all Windows 10 has to offer as it is months before Win 10 is released to the public(mid 2015), but unless you truely like doing these kinds of things, I wouldn't sugest you go out the way and get the os.

Hopefully it will be at least slightly better than 8 because I really dislike using 8. Although i'm not gonna get my hopes up to high.

Oh yeah, I saw this sometime last week, I was going to try it out when I was in one of those non-lazy moods.

The new old start menu looks pretty good imo

Yeah, I did a duel boot with my Windows 7 PC. I am currently moving my main files to it because Windows 10 is quickly becoming my favorite OS. But maybe that's just because I tend to automatically endorse new operating systems...got 8 the day it came out (big mistake.). Only time will tell where this new operating system is going. To fail or not to fail?

Trust me, if you liked windows 7, but also liked some of the unique features of windows 8 (like an App Store, which finally is getting good games) then Windows 10 will be amazing.

We were all disgusted when the metroish blockish nastish start screen came out. It looks like after 2 years Microsoft finally listened to consumers who hated the new start screen. From what I have used of it, Windows 10 feels like what 8 should have been from the beginning.

Forget Windows 10, we have Windows 98. It's a higher number so it must be better. ;p

Well you see, M is the roman numeral of 1000, and e is shorthand for Euler's Constant, so 1000 * 2.718 = 2718, making it the highest valued operating system.

Trust ME.

Never mention Windows ME again. Ever. Then we can forget that it existed.

Also Windows 2000 would be the best OS. Did you people somehow already forget about it? Am I the only one that actually had Windows 2000?

Higher numbers = better? No wonder all of those Breath of Fire fans hated the last one - it's not BoF 5, it's Dragon 1/4. :p
