Why is Chako purple?

Chako is purple because when Mimiga females mature their coats develop pigment.
Chako is not odd, she's just older than the other younger girls.

Chako is not odd, she's just older than the other younger girls.
I... really like this theory. That grown up mimiga females come in a rainbow of colors and all mimiga males are white, I mean.

New headcanon for me.

Depends, that didn't happen with humans.
Or spiders, starlings, some species of fish... But yeah, in most species the males are the more pretty/colorful one. :p
