Hello there.

Before you vote, you probably should read this post.

You should ask yourself about, what kind of music you're listening to. I'm not talking about hearing 1 - 2 songs in one category, I'm talking about that you hear multiple songs a day/week/whatever is a large timescale for you, that fit in one or more categories. Also, there is no pop music to vote for in this poll. You should think about in which category your music does fit. If you are listening to Videogame music or Soundtracks, then it's a matter of discretion. Videogame music can be rockmusic too for example. Most old Videogame music is Chiptune basicly. Pop/Underground is not a genre! (Don't click misc if you're hearing pop) Indie and Alternative are both not worth having own categories. (For example Alternative Rock or Indie Rock is basicly rockmusic) Gamewave falls under chiptune in this one o:

If you need a examples of a category, then you can listen here:

So far everyone has voted for chiptune.

Also, the breakbeat link is messed up since it begins with ttp instead of http.

To anyone who voted Chiptune (such as myself).
I direct you to Flashygoodness.
It's all chiptune. Of all moods.
I'm sure you'll find something.
There are very many songs for you to enjoy.

Checked off (or at least meant to):

Rock
EDM
Metal
Ambient
Art Music

I listen to CBC Radio 3 so it covers alot of ground, however I especially like rock (and all sub genres), electronic, ambient, and DEFINATLY alternative rock, and indie music.

Although, researching into chiptune a bit, I might start listening to it... something about the complex simplicity of it made me fall in love with it. Especially cause I'm a fan of old video game music (such as Megaman II).

Subcategories of japanese music, they have as many types as we do. I vote Hatsune Miku, even if it isn't a category.

Maybe I should just vote Misc. I guess my tastes are too diverse (but I do like chiptune:)).

EDIT: My tastes:

Summery: A lot of piano, hatsune miku, touhou music (on piano), and cavestory music (on piano). I think I'm seeing a trend here.

EDIT again: More music is needed....

Gardebiter, you listed at least five different types of rock, several of which I did not know were distinct genres. Because they aren't. Plus, you didn't list Country or Southern Rock. And there's no such thing as "black music." It's jazz, blues, etc. You also forgot about actual African music, which some of my friends listen to (they are white as paper).
And Avant-Garde isn't a genre either, except in rare, awesome cases. For the most part, people take existing genres and do something new with them. You can't call "avant-garde" a genre, because it's all trying to defy conventions in different ways.
So your problem is that you're being too specific in some areas (rock, darkness, techno), and not specific enough in others (ambient?). Either use really broad terms, or make a GIANT FUCKING POLL.
And unsticky this, I fail to see how it's that important.

wtf?
What are referring to? O_o

Captain Fabulous said:

I listed Country. Also Southern Rock is a subgenre of rock music.

I think it's funny that you assume racism. Anyway I assume that traditional African music, isn't too popular in this forums. It might fall under "folksy music".

Avantgarde music isn't a genre. It's a term for multiple genres. What's wrong about using it? Taking existent genres and do "something new with them" could be either Avantgarde music or experimental music or alternative music or crossover... etc. etc.

Captain Fabulous said:

Rock, darkness, Techno?

...

What?
Techno is part of EDM.
"Dark music" is probably in every genre.
Rock music is a popular genre. You're confusing subgenres, umbrella terms and actual genres.

Captain Fabulous said:

Huh? I listed Ambient. Plus I can't list every genre and subgenre, that's pretty impossible.

Captain Fabulous said:

Actually it's up to me what I think is important enough to be stickied. Stop giving me commands.

Just because I don't know things about stuff doesn't mean this poll isn't stupid.
And of course I didn't expect you to unsticky this. If you're braindead enough to sticky any thread made by/about Kageryushin, it's obvious you aren't able to properly process my good advice.

You try to discuss with me about stuff, you don't even know about. Fail.

You can tell Gardebiter is smart because he a) can insert other words into the word "fabulous" (an extremely difficult task) and b) is trollbait.

I just realized that Pendulum are DnB and Techno at the same time. I fail. Well, at least I got Disturbed's genre right.
