It might be because it's the second time you fight toroko

At least you're not fighting El Toroko.

Well, I never beat the game (almost to the final boss (I'm in the throne room.).), but I have seen a let's play. Monster X completely wrecked me like 11 times, and the core killed me once (I wasn't using the booster 0.8). But then there is Balrog. By that, I mean Balrog the 2nd time. All those flying things that pop out when he attacks are just ANNOYING! I killed the red ogre on my first try btw. If the Last Cave (hidden) was a boss, I would select that as the most difficult boss.

I should probably say Ballos because I have yet to beat him, but that's mostly due to A.) the fact that you litterally have to run through hell to get to him and B.) lack of effort, So I'm going with Iron(head/tail)? as first, The Core Un-dead as second, and normal Core as first (I hate water)

Here is something funny:
I have always had problems with the Core. My sister, who doesn't play Cave Story much and doesn't have much experience, seems to have a natural talent for the Core. I was on a 3hp play-through and I was getting stuck on the Core, but my sister came and defeated the Core with 3hp on first try, although on 3hp she would struggle for Balrog's 2nd entry.
I found this incident amusing. Did you?

Funny thing is the core did piss me off but I beat him after my 4th try. To add to it I didn't get the booster v 0.8 at all so it was just me and my machine gun. All this on my first playthrough

Thanks! Albeit I made it up to the final area yesterday. That boss gauntlet is freaking difficult! I took down the undead core on my first try though! Now onto the sacred grounds for the true final ending.

Heavy Press is also a rather chaotic battle, and the battlefield is much smaller. Out of Ballos' forms I'd say the third is the easiest. His first form can take some time to get used to. Practice really makes perfect here in CaveStory.

Yeah, the main problem for me is actually getting to the bosses in the first place. I know how to get past the first and second area. I know the health restore trick for the third area but the enemys in the third area just screw me over.

Go really slowly, and kill all enemies one by one. This method never fails!
(You're going to have a tough time with Heavy Press, though.)

Without the Blade, Monster X is nearly impossible, especially when you have a computer like mine, that manages to freeze while playing Cave Story...
(With it, he's a total walk in the park)
But with full weapons, Ballos, by far. He had four phases, each harder than the last by a significant amount. Phases 1 and 3 are easy for me, but what really gets me are phases 2 and 4, considering how surprisingly active Ballos is during these points in the battle.

Or maybe it's just because I was controlling Quote with an analogue stick while fighting Ballos.

That's just... incredible.
But once you defeat Ballos' first form a few times, the rest won't be too hard.

That's what really, really annoyed me in the 4th ending. It was a tiny bit fun, though...

It's especially fun when using a LVL 1 Polar Star. So I had to use the Bubbler and the Fireball for firepower.

You should health restore at the start of B3, then attempt to take on B3 up until before heavy press without losing health. If you lose any amount of health then return to the start of B3 and do the health restore trick again, this will reset B3. Keep doing this until you master B3.

On a 3-lifer mode, where Toroko II is still insanely hard, I find Curly to be the worst boss...
You can pass through Curly when she's not firing, so you can hit her point-blank, just fyi.
