Ok my hardest fights are...

1.Ballos (All Forms)
2.Monster X (No idea why)
3.Balrog (Missles)

So my thing with Balrog was on Cave Story Plus on my best ending curly story. I usually play DS and Wii version so I was not ready for the other controls. I got so mad and died about 30 times.

I guess my hardest fights are

1. Ballos (Second Form)
2. Muscle Doctor (using Machine Gun)
3. Red Demon (using Machine Gun)

The last 2 were so much easier when I finally used the Spur 5 games later after the first try.

I probably brought this up in this same exact thread before, but I still don't know why people say that the second form of Ballos is difficult. Please elaborate on your decision, I must know your reasoning for this. I understand if he jumps on you he does massive damage, but it's extremely pattern based and can't possibly be any more difficult than avoiding the spike-balls on the third form (if I recall correctly, they do the same amount of damage).

Well, overtime he has gotten easier. Like you said, it's because of the pattern based moves he made, and also, because of my timing. I was using my DS version of the game when I was fighting him the first time and sometimes I would accidentally press the Fire button than the Jump button and it would always stress me out. But I was able to overcome that and Ballos' second form gotten much easier for me.

You know, I should put him in my list, but really all you do is dodge him and his followers, but he can 1 hit kill you so I'd have to agree with noxid there :p

Heavy Press has killed many CS Sacred Ground speedruns of mine... I would try and do the early skip by taking damage from the (butes/mesas?). Anyway, to elaborate on the second form of Ballos being hard, is that it's semi-hard to quickly beat it. If you use Super Missiles, it's not enough damage to avoid being flown up into the air with his jumping pattern. However, it isn't as hard as Ballos' 3rd or 4th forms though. (If your trying to beat him quickly that is.)

I think that Monster X and The Core are very easy
No booster 0.8, normal mode, no machine gun

Monster x gets absolutely raped by lvl 2 blade, same goes for missile balrog and the core as well.
Hardest for me is still Toroko, even after lots of practice runs.
The 10 dmg rocks and jumping combined make it a very tricky fight for me

The fish is Ironhead, who is a cameo from Ikachan.

I find Toroko+ to be the hardest boss.
i'm not even sure why, I always suck at that boss.
Ballos, I can kill him without taking a hit before just spamming him with missals in his final form.
Alot of the bosses are very easy to be exact. Only trouble I have is with Toroko+

Toroko has this unfortunate habit of jumping around all over the place, which makes the usual method of "spam to death" a bit less useful. That and the fact that the blocks she throws doing 10 damage makes her a bit more challenging if you try to kill her quickly.

The boss that I had the most trouble with was monster X.
I just CANNOT beat him in hard mode. :/

Second to that is Ballos. I still can't beat him without spamming him to death with super missiles in his fourth form. . . and my best time is 2:51:45 running the sacred grounds. -_- I'm just weird.

Maybe I just suck at the game, but the Core has always been a troll when I try to get the spur. I get the snake, I can annihilate an enemy that comes in my path. I have, though, always had trouble against the Muscle Doctor without spamming missiles, which I don't like to do. I don't use missiles, really, I just get them for the sake of it.

On a normal run, I find Toroko II pretty hard, although it seems weird for it to be true. On a 3-lifer mode, where Toroko II is still insanely hard, I find Curly to be the worst boss... not counting stuff like the end-game boss rush and Undead Core/Ballos with their attack spams.
