This doesn't necessarily mean "What game has taken you the longest to beat", but rather "What games were you so in love with that you wasted hours/days of your precious life on them?"

I don't play video games much anymore, so most of the stuff I put the most hours into are old. I believe those games would be: Pokemon Gold, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy 12, and Metroid Prime 2.

I think I spent 200 hours on Final Fantasy 12 just for the hell of it, and I had at least 10 save files in Tales of Symphonia. I just wouldn't leave that game alone.

And I played so much Gold as a loli that I sucked its life dry.

I have 381 hours put into TF2 at the moment.

Yet, I used to play the handheld Pokemon games nonstop (I still sometime play LeafGreen or Blue for kicks) With 300 hours in Platinum version, 70 hours in LeafGreen, 100 hours in Diamond, 45 hours in Blue, 30 in a Japanese SoulSilver, and 120 in an American Heartgold. That totals up to 765 hours. Not including White, which I have no intention of picking up again, with 13 hours. So 381 hours in TF2, and 778 hours across all my Pokemon games. My kids will be proud.

Legend of Zelda, a link to the past. I played that game enough to wear my SNES out, and then got it as a rom to play again. It was amazing.

Oh yeah, I have like 200+ hours in Terraria too. But those console games are much more special to me.

otherwise it would be pokemon silver on the gameboy. honestly I don't think that I know anyone who hasn't put at least 20 hours into some pokemon game.

Hmm. I guess I would add Oblivion to my list. Terraria is REALLY good, but I haven't played it often enough to be able to add it to this list. Maybe Minecraft, I have no idea how long I've played that though.

For the "What games were you so in love with that you wasted hours/days of your precious life on them?" part, I'd say Cave Story, back before I got tired of it.
But for pure hours, my record on Steam is 138 hours in Counter Strike 1.6.
League of Legends is probably coming close to that though.

Final Fantacy 6 for the GBA. I'm a 100% completion maniac, and I consider any cheap glitch that doesn't require a game shark fair game.

I would repeatedly use the glitch that resets character levels (but not stats) in order to regrind for extra stats, in an attempt to max them at around 255.
This glitch requires playing back through the game without saving or quicksaving until you have all the characters you want to reset, which for me meant about 3/4 of the game.
I don't know how long i spent, playing total, but I remember my timer being maxed out, and that wouldn't have counted the time spent on the lvl reset glitch.

EDIT: Actually, the max stats are 128, just checked.

Terraria, Minecraft, this little thing called Runes of Magic. That's about it.

For me, it's either a Zelda game (Link to the Past, Wind Waker, and Twighlight Princess), which I may have played for at least 100 hours each (through beating the game + re-playing), or Super Smash Bros Brawl, which has at least 100 hours in multiplayer. I don't even want to know how lonk I have played on singleplayer...

Spyro/Crash series, they were my first games and I have a very strong connection to them on many levels to an unusual extent, they mean everything to me

That's about what I have for Terraria and I don't think that is a huge amount.
Jesus Christ what am I doing with my life.
I should also mention Super Mario 64, impossible to estimate how many hours I put into it, but it was the game to play for like 6 years of my life.

I'd say Fallout New Vegas, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Minecraft. Getting all the souls in Castlevania was a Pain.

Disgaea 1.

I have about least 1000 hours (42 fucking days!) on two files.
I can't recommend that game enough to anyone >:

I've pretty sure it's cave story. It's one of the first games in a while I enjoy replaying. I've probably put at least 300 hours in it.

The last game I enjoyed replaying was Super Mario World, by the way.

Are we allowed to count all the iterations of Cave Story as one game...?

I have ~1200 hours in Oblivion. It's spread over numerous characters spanning over 3 different computers. On this computer, I'm up to 672 save files, among my 2 most played characters.

I put a hell of a lagre effort in Golden Sun. You have to level up a lot, find all the Djin, summans, and best weapons, to even have a chance against the final Duguons of the game and the bosses
