Of the three endings Cave Story has, which one of them is the most epic?

The "Bad Ending" was the least epic, and I'm sure that's a general truth. You get to play only half the game, you fly away on a dragon with some green-haired guy who never opens his eyes, and even if you saved Booster and Curly, Curly will never get her memory back!
The only good(?) thing about this ending is the emotional part, that you're leaving the island to it's doom, and then it makes you feel bad about it and want to try again.

The "Normal Ending" or "Semi-Good Ending" was actually pretty epic. First off, you finally face off against Misery, and kick her blue ass! Then, you go and seemingly destroy The Doctor, which was the long-awaited battle for me. Finally, in a plot twist The Doctor, who is still alive without a physical form, takes control of Misery, Sue, and the Undead Core, and then the seemingly Final Battle occurs with suiting background music played. You get the "This is it!" feeling, since this is what you've been waiting for the whole time.
You try to get away with Sue, jump off the island, and when you think "Oshi-" since it looks like you're going to fall to your death, Kazuma comes at the last second and saves you with a Sky Dragon, where again the appropiate music plays.
However, you don't get to see what the real reason behind the tragedy of the island, and no one likes to feel left out.

The "Good Ending" was pretty epic as well. It turns out to be that The Doctor isn't the only reason the island's going to hell, it was actually the creator of the Demon Crown, Ballos, who caused all of it. You run through Hell with Curly (;-;") strapped onto you, and you take down Hell together. You get to see that Kumahachi carved staues of Quote, Curly, King, and Toroko (wat), and then go to finally save the island by defeating Ballos. The four-part boss battle is hard, but awesome, and Last Battle finally plays for The Last Battle.
However, there wasn't much back-up to why you have to destroy Ballos, other than some last minute information given by Ballos's dog. Also, it ends with you being saved by Balrog, who crushes on Curly (*gets ready to bitch-slap Balrog*), and then you all just go on a vacation. Kind of an anti-climatic way to end it after all that, but it's not a terrible way to end it, since you get to finally rest peacefully.

The ending that was most epic, in my opinion, was the "Normal Ending". It just has more "ZOMFG YAIZ" factors than the "Good Ending".

So, now that I'm done, what do you think was the most epic ending?

At first I was going to disagree with you, but after thinking about it, the bittersweet "Normal" ending might actually be my favourite. It's more of a "Well, you did it, but..." sort of ending. Ever so slightly 'gritty' since most everyone dies in the end. Except Chaco and Santa.
I'd say something else here but it runs the risk of derailing your topic and making me look somewhat foolish.
I never really though of it before...
But yeah, I suppose the "Best Ending" isn't really the best storywise, for me at least.

Normal ending IMO.

I would say the third, but I kind of feel like it ended sort of abruptly. I would have liked it a lot better if you connected back with Sue and Kazuma and the whole group before the ending credits. It almost felt to me like leaving them behind or something.

I also thought the whole "jump off the island with Sue" part in the normal ending was pretty exciting. That's why when I go for the thrid ending I always go "escort" her to safety before going to Hell. X3

Also, that. Bittersweet endings to stories always have a stronger impact on me.

In a strange twist I agree with MS.
The bad ending is by far the most epic.
I mean, sure you hop on a sky dragon and fly away.
BUT!
At the same time, it leaves a lot open for sequels and stuff.

Exactly.
Though it does occur to me that you could get to that ending with the best weapons...
Which means you went through all the trouble of arming yourself just to run away.

Good ending is epicest, because of the Break Down montage. Break Down is quite epic indeed, and this remix is even more so. I think I like the best ending most, though, because I like Curly more than the Sakamotos. They're boring scientist types. Curly is a robot!

Ok, my opinion:

"bad" ending:
ok, so you pussy out and escape because you were stuck on last cave with the machine gun and it didn't work out. But you still fly to safety on a DRAGON. Pretty awesome.

"pretty ok" ending:
Oops! You forgot to get Ma pignon and now you can't go to hell, sucks for you. Still, almost everyone dies (balrog!), but everyone on the plane gets Chaco sex so it's ok. Extreme.

"omg look balls" ending:
good for you! After lots of youtubing and plenty of hours wasted, you finally manage to scrape through hell in over 10 minutes and balrog grows wings. Lots of explosions. Intense

note: explosions are good.

The Good Ending was the most epic in cinematics...
The Bad Ending was equally epic in terms of things going wrong lol, but was lame for Quote and Kazuma... especially since they didn't regroup.. but lived out the rest of their days in the mountains.......... [......]....... lol

Happily Ever After made the least sense...
Unless... Curly, A) forgot about the Koron when her memory was restored. Or just pulled a Quote. "Aren't you forgetting something...?"
B) When she was able to move when Quote left to get the Doctor, she was able to find them, and make sure they were okay or in good hands. (Jack?)
C) When she was able to move when Quote left to get the Doctor, they were transformed/dead! ... or something and she focused on the mission or something
D) She finds Misery (or Misery finds Curly) after being defeated by Quote both times. Curly confronts Misery asks her where the kids are, where is Quote... And maybe Misery sends Curly to where Quote is headed...

Meh dunno, but without knowing why Curly is okay to just "Let's just live out our lives on a nice island" it doesn't make sense as much as the normal ending...
Anti-epic without a few more details in my opinion :p

So I guess I choose Good Ending

I like the normal ending.

The island crashed into the earth and all the inhabitants on the island were still okay:)

Good ending made less sense. It seemed like everything was resolved too quickly after Balrog came in and saved the day. It was still okay as a finish to the game.

Normal ending seemed like the original one Pixel was going for. I can see how the Bad ending could be epic in terms of not being a traditional "happy ending", but it looks almost like an add-on rather than one of the real endings. Nobody would play through Cavestory just to say, "Yes! I got the 1st bad ending! I'm done now!".

Don't you mean "And everyone on the island died (including Curly)" ?

It didn't look like too much survived, plus the impact of a landmass like that falling from the sky would do massive damage not only to the island itself, but whatever it happened to land on.

But how do you explain the ending credits with people on the island still alive? Or did the ending credits take place before all of that happened? What about the littler puppies in Jenka's house? Those weren't there before. So it must have taken place after the crash.

Originally, I thought they all died too. Now it seems more confusing than that.

I always thought anyone who you didn't see die, lived, since all of the deaths happen in front of you. I'm sure the credits events happen after, since if you get the Good Ending Jenka's dogs are there, and then Booster comes in. Normal Ending, everything is the same except for Booster coming in. It has to take place at the same time then.
