As the thread title explicitly asks, what is your favourite anime?

I can't really pick a favourite anime, since most of the anime I've watched were good (examples are: My Neighbor Totoro, Paprika and 5 Centimeters per Second) so...I'll make a list then.

[Warning: possible spoilers ahead (this is why they're in a spoiler)]
3. My Neighbor Totoro
Personally, My Neighbor Totoro was a really great anime movie, especially with how it felt and how freaking adorable the little Totoros are.
The Cat Bus was my favourite thing in it, only because--come on, it's a cat bus.
Anything that has to do with cats is great.

2. Gurren Lagann
I dunno why, but Gurren Lagann is just...amazing to me.
Like, I didn't get to watch a subbed version, but the dubbed version...the voice actors are somewhat amazing at it, even if it felt kinda awkward for me while watching the first few episodes. The prospect of a tiny drill being able to save the world/universe is just...astounding.
Plus Yoko Littner.

1. Ano Hana
No favourite anime list of mine is complete without Ano Hana. Even though I kinda forgot all of the characters' names and only remembered what happened, it's still kinda sad for me to remember how it ended...I plan on rewatching it soon just so I can feel it once more, or whatever.

In case you just wanted the names in the spoiler:
3. My Neighbor Totoro
2. Gurren Lagann
1. Ano Hana

So now that I posted my favourite anime, what are yours?

Here's four:
Code Geass: Forget good and evil, this is a series that paints morality with every colour of the rainbow.
Steins;Gate: It's hard to explain, but it is a serious story about time travel featuring one of the most hilarious and unique main characters for an anime series.
Squid Girl: A comedy that's fun and full of life. And very PG, unlike what your dirty mind was imagining.
Nichijou: Imagine a slice of life comedy that was made larger than life in every conceivable way.

As for movies I would recommend Summer Wars and Wolf Children.

I have a few favorites:

1. Dragon Ball Z: The anime for otakus of all rankings
2. Kill La Kill: "It's like a magical girl anime on speed"
3. Watamote: The story of a skinny, R63 version of myself

Sket Dance: A slice of life with lots of intense comedy coupled with some sentimental scenes as well. It's my favorite anime of all.
Bleach: Has lots of interesting concepts and powers along with emotional development. Also the plot is very engrossing.
These are pretty much my top two, but there are lots more nice ones like Little Busters, Fairy Tail, Kill me Baby, K, Beyond the Boundary...
There are more but I can't remember them all off the top of my head right now...

Congrats you quoted one moment in the entire show. Also while cutting out all the in between dialogue.

Samurai Champloo. Probably the only anime I could truly say I loved/even obsessed over. But I rarely watch anything nowadays, even though I tell myself to. Doesn't help that I have friends who hardcore follow each season and new series released. I stopped paying attention to stuff in like 2009 so all these names just elude me.

I'm more of a fan of films since it's not an entire series you have to dedicate time to. Wolf Children, as andwhy mentioned, is on my to watch list. There are lots of other ones I've watched in the past that I remember nothing of and want to revisit. The Place Promised in our Early Days, Perfect Blue, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, etc. Recently rewatched Paprika after not seeing it for 8 years and loved everything about it. (Rip Satoshi Kon). If you guys ever have the chance I'd recommend you check out some anime movies outside of Miyazaki (as great as he is) and explore other directors. There's some great stuff out there.

Personally I believe that Mamoru Hosoda and Studio Chizu will one day become every bit as well known as Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

While it's pretty hard to pin down one favorite, I've been feeling pretty fond of Shinsekai Yori recently.

You're so much better off being in your position. I have watched the first few episodes of so many awful shows and finished so many mediocre ones.

I don't watch much tv in general, much less Anime. The default answer is Fruits Basket, though. :3

As for films, I actually really like Paprika. Even though I've never watched that either. (Gosh I'm pathetic.)

I watched Nichijou: My ordinary life once, and another show called Nichijou about teenage boys.
That latter one was amazing, including quotes such as "Do nipples grow back?" and "Maximize your virgin power!"

Also Kirby Anime's nice or something.
