I don't understand why everyone thinks that when a thread's discussion is "over" that it's time to lock the thread. There's no need to, and the discussion can pick up again or continue on. afaik the only real need to lock threads is when moderators specifically want the discussion in that thread to end

Locking the thread means that no one can post in it, forcing the discussion to close. I think we should just leave the thread open.
