Okay, I have been wanting to play this game for a long time but it runs awful on my computer, and there is a TON of screen tearing

I have a 7800 GT Nvidia card, with the newest drivers (everything has the newest drivers I think) and no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of this screen tearing.

Any tips on how to fix this?

Open up DoConfig.exe and set it to play in a window.

still chops even in a window, though not as bad, but it's there a way I can fix this in full screen?

Don't know, I don't think Cave Story has a V-Sync feature. It may be possible to force it from your video card's control panel however.
