No Chaco doesn't get one, because there is no original.
STICK WITH IT.

LOL.

Well, you have to stick with it.
Like I'm going to stick with Mokou after you killed Sue.

Lets play a game.

jenkasdogs.gif

Tell me which one in the picture is Hajime and I will put him at the top. :D

Or you could ask Pixel if you want. Identifying all of the dogs would help alot.

They all look the same... I think Hajime is the one holding a glass cup because it is from the place where Curly lives. Sand Zone Residence entrance has a glass cup above the door.

Chie, the korons, Dr Gero, the two dogs and of course the Ikachan squid all don't have original facepics, but have fan-made ones in there (though the koron's and the dogs' are from Pixel's illustrations and Gero seems to be from the illustration but flipped horizontally). Looks like a precedent to me, but only to the degree that if someone presented one, it ought to be added.

Hajime is now first.

Ikachan is the only one you can find fault with because I created it as a vector from the ending and icon pics (neither were big enough) and altered every pixel to cave story colours.

The rest were just recolours (using the proper colours) of various official cave story pixel art:

Another one, check here: http://www.cavestory.org/troubleshooting.php

The words in bold in the spoiler is the point.
The Mimiga at the left says "I have nothing more to tell you." You need to get aquainted to Curly Brace. You have to say No to Curly for not killing the Mimigas. Then the Mimiga at left will say something about the puppy and now you can get the puppy.
Any way to get the last problem more accurate?

While we're on this topic: The health capsule locations specify one of the puppies in Plantation. This is only half true -- The puppy will only give you a life capsule if you hadn't used the health potion at all since you got it. If you have used it, the puppy gives you another one, and the life capsule can never be attained.

Really? I didn't know that. Well, I will tell you that you're wrong on one count: you can use the potion, get another from jenka, and still get that last 5 HP from the puppy. I guess it's just if you don't HAVE the potion that you lose it.

I don't want to create a new thread about newer issues, I think it would be right to post it here. Can't you do something about the greenfish? It comes from NpcX.pbm and is used by Monster X.

Careful with putting links within pictures:
  • The TrainerAbu's Trainer picture points to WinAmp ORG plugin.
  • PiyoPiyoPlayer picture points to CaveShark
Broken links:
  • WinAmp ORG plugin
  • TrainerAbu's Trainer (hosting bandwith exceeded)
  • ORGasm
  • Updated pxtone Collage (Latest version tends to get updated often, 9.0.8 is now 9.1.3)

Carry's discription has a misspelled word: "pison." Replace with "poison."

Always need to right-click in your IE browser window, Go to encoding, more, and select "Japanese (Auto-Select)" to see the last two links with correct text.

It behaves like an enemy and is used as a projectile. It depends on how you look at it.

You could claim Butes to be Heavy Press projectiles under the same logic.

No harm can come from including it.

I have the files and can host it on cavestory.org, but I need permission, either that or I have to wait until JTE fixes up his new site:

As with any of these tools, I need permission to host them, otherwise it is up to TrainerAbu. Do you know how to get a hold of him?

But I have no idea how to do it otherwise. I wouldn't mind a translation though.

...I don't think that sprite is actually used by Monster X.

You could try enclosing it in language tags:
Code:
<span lang="jp">japanese text here</span>

Of course it is.

That didn't work but I figured out how. I changed <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> into <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=shift-jis">, and it worked!

I don't think that's a good solution... it implies the entire page is in the Japanese character set, which it presumably isn't.

What about iso-10646? Does that work? Or utf-16? Or utf-32? Maybe iec-10646? Or even just unicode?

The shift-jis character set includes English ASCII characters, so the page will render properly.

Read up on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift-JIS
All characters that are not keyboard English ASCII characters or half-width katakana characters are used as the start of a double-byte character. It is like a sort of unicode/ascii hybrid.

Also the lang attribute is only so that search engines can know what language the text is in, it doesn't modify how it renders to the page.

I know it includes English characters, but it's intended for Japanese text (which often contains English characters).

So if it would work with a different encoding, that would be preferred. Or... if you give a list of encodings, does it choose the first one it finds from the list?

I am saying that all keyboard English characters are unchanged from ascii and are still single byte, the Japanese is in double byte, but it uses typically unused (in most cases) characters to start the double byte. The html isn't read in shift-jis, but is written to the screen in shift-jis. There is no drawback to using shift-jis, in either English or Japanese.

Shift-JIS is an efficient system for using both English and Japanese characters on a webpage. There are any number of Japanese charsets, but this one best suits my needs. I know how it works, I do not have, and will most likely never have, any problems with it.

Here are the double byte characters if you are interested:

I dont know if it's just me but the Squids that appear after Iron Head's defeat... No one of them is Ikachan!!

IIRC, the tribute site lists it as Ikachan and even has a face sprite for it! Notice that Ikachan has cat-like-ears in the head and the squids after the battle are normal squids..
In GUXT, ikachan also has kit-like-ears so...
