This thread is well overdue. But yeah, title says it all really.

A pre-patched English translation? Or will AGTP not let us?

This is what I was going to say. It's not difficult to translate the game if you know how the translator works, but most "console gamers" (mainly those who picked up Cave Story on the Wii Ware or DSi Ware, like I did) who have little experience with computers may have trouble. My first time downloading Cave Story I downloaded the Deluxe Version just for the pre-patched game (at the time I didn't care much for the artwork, which I now come to admire). Thanks!

Edit: I'm not totally sure what "AGTP" is, but let's hope they don't prevent the creation of a pre-patched English version. I mean, the Deluxe Version comes pre-patched; why can't the game just be a standalone download?

I believe it's Aeon Genesis, tho ones who made the translation.

That's what I thought, but Aeon Genesis doesn't have a P in it.

Re: Tribute Site Submissions/Suggestions

I believe "AGTP" stands for "Aeon Genesis Translation Projects".

A pre-patched release would affect traffic to their own site and they mightn't like the idea of making a fancy installer no-one would use, so I figured getting their approval would be a good idea. Anyway I sent Zhi an email about it. Still waiting for a response. He gets alot of emails you see.

Hmm.. maybe emailing Shih Tzu about it would be better...

In any case I haven't ignored this or anything. I will implement it (or not) as soon as I get a response.

You'd think 4 months would be enough time to reply to a simple email.

I wonder if he'd respond faster if you put the game up anyway.

Haha, I second that motion. (I'm sorry if it annoys anyone that I make "seconded" or "third-ed" posts. I'm aware it is in violation of a minor rule, but I try to give my posts substance; and do not do it for an increased post count. If I irritate anyone by posting "seconded" or "third-ed" with a little dialogue afterwards, please tell me and I'll stop. I noticed I've been doing a lot of those lately.)

Probably not. Plus I wouldn't really do it that way anyway.

I sent an email to Shih Tzu. Hopefully I'll get a response. Otherwise I'll try PM-ing him on LJ.

Re: Tribute Site Submissions/Suggestions

Update other works by Pixel (soaprun, etc.) and possibly a more clear link to Pixel's dev blog?

Done, except for soaprun. Anyone have a screeny? I can't take one due to the game's indefinite offline status.

I got this one from the youtube video. I also have several offline versions of soaprun but those are on my laptop so unless the quality *really* needs to be higher than this... it's what there is.

The link to Pixel's dev blog no longer works on the Tribute Site, because he redesigned his website weeks ago and split his blog into 3 sections:
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Ah, ok. So I guess that if I want my fanart to be shown on the tribute site, then I post it here.

Yeah, I know that there was already one, but I've made my own because:
1) I wanted to make my own
2) There are numerous improvements in my version in contrast to Daniel O'Connell's. Also note that I did not base mine off of his, but off of the Mychar sprite sheet.
