Since Merlinoboy doesn't seem to get what the purpose of a ban is, and since I don't seem to have the power to IP ban someone (and they can be worked around), it's time to set in place a couple of rules.
1. All of his new posts on alt accounts will be deleted.
2. Do not respond to his new posts.
3. Posts that are responding to his posts will be deleted as well. If the post in question is responding to more than one post, then the part concerning merlinoboy's post will be edited out.
If rule 2 is broken (given that it is obvious that you were aware it was him), then you will be warned. If it happens again, you will be temporarily banned.
[EDIT]: Rule 2 will also apply to visitor messages. Please do not leave any on his new alternate accounts.

Punishing users for replying to someone who avoids his ban every chance he gets and is going to keep coming back no matter what because they replied to him? That doesn't make any sense at all.
And Mods aren't supposed to make up their own rules on the spot and start enforcing them, only enforce the current rules.
Just ban his accounts on site and delete his posts/threads. Don't start punishing users for talking to someone, that is even more silly than banning someone for posting in a spambot thread.
