The other thread was called the First Annual Kanpachis, so I figured I'd just make another one. Feel free to merge and rename the threads if you want, mods.
So last year, we did this thing called the Kanpachis, and it was a bit of a flop. We didn't have a lot of preparation. This year, though, things are going to be different! The Kanpachis are awards for making the forums a better place, and they will be given out on February 1st. Here's how it works:
Anyone can pitch an idea for a category of award. The people running the show (me and whoever else cares enough) will decide whether or not to include it. Then, anyone can submit a nominee for that category. For instance, last year we did "best self-picture," and nominees were Wedge of Cheese, DoubleThink, WoodenRat and me. You can nominate yourself or anyone else.
There's a rule for categories, though: no "worsts." Some of the categories can poke fun at members, like "best ragequit," but we're not doing this to insult anyone.
So, we'll be deciding on categories and nominees up until January 24th. After that, it's voting time. Categories that I believe should carry over from last year:
Best Thread
Best TL;DR (Okay, just the best long post)
Best First Post
Best Self-Picture
Best Art
Most Improved Member
I propose a new one:
Best VM Conversation
The most important question: WILL THERE BE PRIZES? That entirely depends on what you'd consider a prize.
So start going through old posts and uncovering your gems. Don't hesitate to nominate yourself, since you probably remember your achievements better than everyone else.
