Hey, just downloaded the game because I heard it was awesome. When I start it up, however, all the text overlaps and makes it impossible to read... Everything else works fine, but I want to know what is going on in the story!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think someone else had the same problem some time ago. I'll see if I can find that thread.
Could you post a screenshot, please.

Do you have the Courier New font?
Try opening up DoConfig and setting the font to another option.

can you read the words overlapped?

maybe its just the one you downloaded, have you tried downloading a different one?

Yep, it's version 1.0.0.6. I can read a word here and there, but not enough to make sense of it.

I've downloaded it from 3 different places... and I still get the same thing.

I guess you've already tried reinstalling CS, but have you tried running it without using the translator first? Just to see if that might be what's causing this.

Could the problem be an old video card driver?

Hey, you never know... I once downloaded the newest driver for my video card for another game and I got driver errors all over the place until I rolled it back.

I've tried all the options in compatability mode... and yes I am running vista.

Has anyone been able to play it on vista?

On my system the game works perfectly fine on 32-bit Vista Home Premium.
The text in the dialog boxes seems to be a bit "sharper" than on WinXP, but I guess it has something to do with Vista's graphic scalers/filters. Other than that, the game plays just as it does on XP.

My video card is GeForce 7900GT.
