The post count is useless in that case too. DoubleThink has less posts than cultr1 or Noxid and he's admin on these forums. And Skyewelse has even less. Also, most people lurk for a while before posting here at all.

 

I know the update was a long time ago, but the forums seem weird now. Everything's different, less convenient.

I could write what's wrong in my opinon, but really, I've been here way too long now and had just gotten used to the old layout that most forums use.

 

IP Board hasn't been terribly popular with anybody, but I'm okay with it as long as it keeps the spamboots out

 

It had a more minimalistic look back then, there weren't many features but at least the basic functions were better (like searching for posts, checking other people's profiles). If the spambots really were that big of an issue, I'm talkikng about spam threads everywhere, and this was literally the only way, then why not.

 

As a new years' day gift, have these spamboot stats from December 2011!

I used to go there, actually. People were still posting there lol, even though everything was moved to cavestory.org/forums, there were a few threads and I think Fire1052 (The dude who framed Ralren so he had police/FBI knocking on his door) was relatively active.

 

I really hope that's not the only thing you took from what he just said.
I think that protection is much more important than how easy it is to use this site, and I'm sure a lot of people agree. Although IPbored annoys me, I think it was the right direction to go.

That is different because it says by their name that they are admins. I am talking about regular members, it also helps me out to know when I will be getting my member status ranked up.

Anyway, back on topic: Noxid mentioned earlier that when you view the online list, you have to manually set it to just showing member activity, otherwise you'll have a giant list of guests. Any way to make the default "show registered users"?

Also deleting a post doesn't deduct from your post count.

(I had 1523 posts before posting here. I double posted and deleted one post, and ended up with 1525.)

 

That's another 'quirk' IP Board has, but it can be fixed by running the post count rebuilder. This is why some of you may have noticed a random drop in value a while ago
