Something I have wondered about...

Why isn't there a cave story RP?

We should seriously start one. Is there anyone here with enough experience to start us off?

 

This can only end badly.

It doesn't take much experience, you just set up some rules and create your character at the same time if you want too.

 

As long as somebody doesn't TRY to derail the RP, I really don't see why it has to end badly... (of course, it all depends on how the RP runs, now doesn't it?) I'm not gonna start it, though. I've had bad experiences, to say the least.

I'd be interested in participating, but considering that you guys seem to know a heck a lot more about Cave Story theories than I do, I'm iffy. Keep it sane and logical, and I'll play along.

 

If it's going to be a RP you might aswell throw reason and logic out the window.

That is the whole point after all. Pretty much that is.

When it's all overly logical and stuff it becomes boring.

 

I didn't mean to say "stick to teh rules, or I commit seppuku". Just don't make it totally off base of Cave Story and characters, and I'm cool with it.

And not all RPs have to be random. (I'd rather not argue what an RP is, as I'm sure I'd just get argued to death.)

And yeah, sticking to the only "rules" tend to get boring. "Serious" D&D games can do that at times...

If it were one, I'd lose interest almost entirely. Ones done on forums just don't work out very well...

 

I have forum roleplaying experience. About one year's worth. Maybe a year and a half. Or is it two years now?

However, I have no desire to run a Cave Story roleplay. I may join on, but I won't run it.

 

So... when can we get started?

When we find someone suitable to run it.

 

Why not hire someone from Forum Wizards? They get paid to have lots of experience with these sorts of things.

 

I'm pretty sure no one here would be willing to pay for something like that.

I'll rephrase:
There are no members willing to run an RP, let alone have the experience to run it. Celtic Minstrel says he has the experience to run it, but that he doesn't want to.

 

I tried to make a CS text adventure with ADRIFT, but got bored. It could work, though.

 

I don't think you should be paid to do something like this, you just need someone who can control.
