So I'm playing hard mode for the first time...

...and I'm stuck in the labyrinth. I am currently in the hospital that Curly is staying in, but I can't get out cos when I leave I'm immediately bombarded with so many enemies and attacks, and the level 3 knife sucks because I can't kill the enemies fast enough. When I do get out, get to the abandoned clinic, and get the cure-all, I walk out and die because the enemies are from below now! Could someone tell me a strategy for getting through the labyrinth? Thanks!

Edit: I only need help with getting back to the hospital, actually.

I would try and snipe the enemies with the fireball, personally.
