Save File not appearing in CS folder

I have played up to Mimiga Village, and I stopped playing for a bit. Shortly after, I found out how to get NXEngine running, so I did. I want to transfer the save file from the game to NXEngine, so I went to find the save file. It isn't there. I DID remember to save, I can load the game. But I can't find find the file. The screenshot shows too, it's not there (It was taken while the game was running). Any help?

 

I believe we've seen this phenomenon before. If this is that same thing, then try looking in "C:\Users\(Username Here)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Cave Story Deluxe\CaveStory" and see if it has profile.dat inside.

 

Interesting that you chose to use NXEngine over Vanilla CS when there are more compelling options like CSE2 or the modloader available. Generally NXEngine is frowned upon for it's inaccuracy compared to the original game, and CSE2 and the modloader still offer cool features like 60fps, widescreen and a larger window.
