• Most people probably don't realise this, but this forum has had two editors for a number of years. One is the xenForo default editor, and the other is a custom editor I made years back I called BBCEd.

All the settings for which editor you use was lost during the upgrade. You can find the setting under Account Settings > Preferences > Editor.

  • I've had it made known to me that for about a week now people haven't been able to finish registering or receive email notifications. I can imagine how frustrating this must have been, particulary for our newest members. Unfortunately our site owner is away at the moment and he most likely won't be able to do anything about it for another week or so. Until then, anyone who wants their account manually verified can contact me via their method of preference and I'll sort it for them myself. Reason why The Doctor wanted Sue

Old topic!
The last post in this thread is over 60 days old. Posting in this thread will be considered a bump, so please make an attempt to be courteous if you go ahead with it.

If the last post is over 6 months old, it may instead be a better idea to start a new topic. If you aren't sure about what to do, feel free to ask a staff member for help, or try to locate a 'general questions'-type thread if it exists in this (sub-)forum.

That seems like a good theory, but I just thought the doctor wanted sue because she whined a lot on the trip.

Okay, bumping this because I checked through the thread and didn't find anyone with my theory.

Alright. Well.

I mentioned in the pairings thread that I think Momorin and Date were in a relationship at some point, a long time ago.

It's relatively safe to assume they've been working together for some time, although the actual length of time is debatable. They also seem to be of approximately similar age. I imagine that they had a relationship at some point -- in my mind, probably not for very long -- and Sue's father came into the picture later on.

Although I think Date was always a bit of a jerk, I can foresee Momorin's affection toward Sue's father making him grow even more bitter and resentful.

At the end of the day, I honestly believe the reason he was specifically seeking out Sue at the start of the game was largely an act of revenge (although I can accept the theory that he wanted to test out the effects of the flower specifically on a human-turned-mimiga). What tipped me off was when Momorin mentioned that "men who don't treat women with respect are barbarians" (referring to the doctor) -- definitely made me think she's seen/put up with his bullshit before.

Poor Chivalry, only in the game for one short sentence.

In all seriousness though, this seems to be a pretty viable theory, and his act of revenge coupled with the need for a "special" mimiga probably made her a more likely target than Itoh.

Exactly. There's no real reason why he couldn't send for Itoh, and if anything, he would have been an easier capture. :muscledoc:

I always thought that when she said that she was refering to the fact that he threw her off the island when he got his hands on the crown. For all we know he could have been a perfect gentleman up to that point, and probably would have needed to have been in order to earn favor to get on the trip to the island (maybe).

Apologies in advance if the following has already been stated/proven/denied.

I always thought that the doctor was the one who turned Sue into a mimiga as an experiment to see if the red flower would affect mimiga-morphed humans, but Sue escaped his captivity before being forced to eat it. He pursued her from that point forward as he still desired to complete his experiment, he just failed to hunt down any of the other humans or some reason.

(He obviously willed Misery to do the transforming, but I see is as the doctors doing.)

But sue escaped before the doctor even knew where the flowers were.

Aha, but that does not mean he was unaware of their existence.

...

No, I think you've disproved my theory, I just still think he turned Sue into a mimiga for some test-related reasons.

How would the doctor turning someone you don't know into a mimiga piss you off?
