Would it be too much trouble to list when the mods were made, and/or when they were last updated?

EDIT: Post count #31 level up! XD

Considering the huge quantity of mods and the fact that DT isn't finished documenting them yet without searching for multiple dates for each, it would likely take an unreasonable amount of time to do without much reward

No, it just means he's probably not going to put dates next to each of the mods. Although if someone were to set all the dates for each mod out for him on a silver platter, he might be willing.

I am actually tracking the dates for first and latest versions, as well as the thread OP dates in the master list.

Why?

I was gonna do it if he didn't already have it over half done.

Oh, he did?

Well what if I was to do it completely from scratch? (alphabetically and dated)

Because from the looks of it, it won't be done anytime before 2035.

E: ok, that came of waaaaaaay more snobby then I anticipated

A little bit, yes...

I'd recommend asking him in private first, at least for the future.

ok, I got DT's permission to update the mods thingy

When it comes to the main guide/archiving, I need to be able to track the information I want as I go, and unfortunately an awful lot of the oldest mods are probably now only available on my and maybe a select few other hard drives.

However, at the moment there are a lot of new mods that aren't getting recorded, which is Not A Good Thing. Up until about, oh, I'd say a bit under a year ago there was little to update for, but now the section is seeing a lot of activity again, probably due to a combination of new member influx and I&D being shut down. Having thought about it, I think what you could do is keep track of the new mods until I catch up on everything. I want them to have at least some level of content/effort so every mod and its mother isn't posted there, but aside from that we can discuss what layout you want to use and so on.
So I'm NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES so fire away.

and also this is kinda important.

Name: Boss Rush {Challenge}
Creator(s): SeriousFace
Type: Timed challenge, partial CS edit... boss rush?
Status: Finished
Features: None really
Blurb: It's a boss rush, that's basically it. Between each boss there are options to get items/health upgrades that would normally be available at that stage. Speed is of the essence in this fast-paced challenge!

Specs:
Level redesign: yes
Art Edits: no
Basic ASM modifications: no
Advanced ASM modifications: no
New music: no
SW mod: yes

Specs have been added, no I'm not going to add them to every existing mod (because I'm not gonna play them all) but you can have them in your description because it more likely for you to get plays if you fill this out. (maybe)

And also there are now categories for "types"

Vanilla edit: A basic Cave story edit with little/no plot changes (think hard mode)
CS edit: An advanced Cave Story edit minor/major plot changes (think Cavern Tale)
Build off: A Story based of the original events of CS (think K;SS)
New/from Scratch: A completely new world, barely or not at all related to CS (think WTF? Story)
Challenge: Duh
Proof of Concept: Proves something, rarely will these be added
Other: ???

And with that, start adding!

I'm not sure that WTF? Story is the best example for this category (in my opinion it falls more under a Build off), seeing as how it has several very prominent Cave Story characters, and implies that events from Cave Story have taken place. I think Schism would be a much better example.

Anyway...
Name: Cave Story with a Fourth Ending {Long}
Creator(s): HaydenStudios
Type: CS edit
Status: Finished
Features: An extra path with new cutscenes, new dialogue, altered credit illustrations, and altered epilogue sequences
Blurb: King and Toroko's deaths are a terrible tragedy that can never be prevented. Or can it? Take the secret hidden path of the 4th ending, and you'll be able to save King and Toroko, see the Colons safe and sound, and have your cake and eat it too by going home with the Sakamotos along with Curly Brace.

Specs:
Level redesign: no
Art Edits: yes
Basic ASM modifications: no
Advanced ASM modifications: no
New music: no
SW mod: no
And here's all that in code form because this board doesn't like to generate quoteceptions when you quote someone's post:

Why isn't providing a link to the dev thread a part of the format anymore?

EDIT: Ah, what the heck, I'll provide a link anyway.

Q: Where is the line drawn between 'Basic' and 'Advanced' ASM hacking? And why should people care?

(Note: If you noticed the slight discrepancies [Like why "Cavern Tale" is on hiatus, or why "The Customizer" has Basic ASM edits listed as "Yes"], it's because I'm going to announce/update them in the next few weeks.)

Blurb: You play as a lowly janitor, caught in-between a violent crisis of several characters including: The Chef, a culinary artist with questionable methods, Sue Notasakamoto, a cutthroat overlord thirsting for world domination, and Balrog, the fanciest gentleman alive.

Name: The Endless Sanctuary Customizer! {Short}
Creator(s): Enlightened One
Type: Vanilla Edit/Proof of Concept
Status: Finished
Features: Tons of customizable options, fast and easy menus, and a silly ending.
Blurb: At first glance, it appears as an average hell mod, but this one has the most options available, and the most convenient way to access them: Teleporter Menus. From a no-booster run, to having a puppy instead of Curly, the customization available is endless.

And yes, you are suppose to provide a link, I was just forgetful and didn't re-add it to the post.

I wasn't sure about it, but I added it under "F" and not "C"
