Probably the best cartoons I watched back then were those on the national Amish channel.

In all seriousness, I watched a bit of Cyberchase and Veggie Tales in youth, though I think the Power Puff Girls and Dexter's Labrotory were my favorites (it's hard for me to remember).

Socialism had many bad things, but one of the good thing was that in general all the cartoons here had to be educational or convey positive messages (I mean no propaganda, but common sense morality). Spongebob, for example would never get on air here. The best actors and voice-actors of the country were hired at cartoons and kid programs, who sometimes did a better job than the original. Basically the 2 videos I've posted earlier sums the direction up.

...So thanks to these cartoons I'm at a video game forum at the age of 29 with a Catman avatar :orangebell:

I don't watch many cartoons, but lately I've been interestsd in Steven Universe, for it being funny/silly and being on a similar level of humor as Adventure Time, and Rick & Morty, for having the mature adult-swim kind-of humor that really works in its favor. They both have pretty good animation I guess, so I'd recommend them. I could think of alot more but I don't really watch many cartoons and they're popular enough to not warrant a mention.

YouTube is pretty damn good for finding obscure things on these days, I'll give it that

I can't remember exactly how old I was when this was on, probably about 10-ish. Science + clever = enamoured self. There were a few others too but this came most directly to mind when thinking of edutainment.

Haha, I actually kinda remember watching that in school in my early elementary school days. It's weird seeing it now after all these years.

Captain Planet did a pretty good job in that department.

Aw man, somehow I remember that. Aired for awhile at... forgot which channel. I know it was something Retro.

For some reason he was my favourite hero for a long while.

Oh hey I remember Science Court, they were funny. I liked the one about gravity.

Someone tracked down where they got the song clip for the Arthur episode "Binky Rules". You never really hear a whole song, just 10 seconds or so, so they just took this random clip and looped it. And so, I present, the origin of the only song of the fictional band known as "Binky".

If we're talking about its quality as an actual cartoon then the first season and a half of Ren and Stimpy. It may not teach crap, but by god that animation is amongst the best I've seen on TV.
