1.the .exe program size is too big, 6,68 Mb.
Okay,WHAT? As in,half a gigabyte?
If Game Maker 8.1 EXEs are that big,don't use GameMaker 8.1!!!
Use Game Maker 5-the overhead for that is quite small.(ENIGMA,as you'll see in the following log,is broken.)
Now excuse me,I have to go download ENIGMA so I can get this thing to run.Plus,ENIGMA might make a smaller EXE...
(EDIT:
<manages to open in LGM>
Uh,this looks a lot like a certain pursuit racing example game...
)
(EDIT2:
Having decided to install ENIGMA for GNU/Linux(instead of trying to get the Windows one to work under Wine,which was a big mistake),
installing ENIGMA went rather smoothly.
After fixing the game's use of new functions such as "show_question"...And "sound_fade"....
Also:Apparently ENIGMA developers just *LOVE* to poke stuff into the global namespace when they shouldn't,and their joystick support is broken(EDIT3:By broken,I mean 'Will not compile' broken.So I couldn't run the game.Had it allowed me to compile,I could ignore it.) on Fedora 20.With no "get rid of the joystick support" checkbox.Meaning I get to go messing with the code.Just lovely.
I *FINALLY* got the game working,on GNU/Linux.Mostly,anyway.
Oddly enough,it seems the game has been expanded from the original example.Not by much,though.
So,in future,if you can't give people something usable with what you have,then switch to something that can,because honestly,having to do all that was stupid.(EDIT4:If you're on Windows,you can just install Game Maker 8.1!...except I bet that's where most of the file size came from,and if the game uses any 'pro' functions(which I haven't checked for yet,but it's unlikely),then you have remove the functions,or buy it.)
Oh,and don't claim it's entirely yours-I've seen those sprites before.
)
EDIT4:And yes,I know the amount of edits is getting silly.
