OMG! Japanese mods! (Or possibly a DU thread) (UPDATED 2/19/9000)

Old topic!
The last post in this thread is over 60 days old. Posting in this thread will be considered a bump, so please make an attempt to be courteous if you go ahead with it.

If the last post is over 6 months old, it may instead be a better idea to start a new topic. If you aren't sure about what to do, feel free to ask a staff member for help, or try to locate a 'general questions'-type thread if it exists in this (sub-)forum.

I am glad if such a thing is said.
I resume work.

It may take time.

おぉぅ、まさかの日本人でしたか。
Nope.

So, I'm playing Stone of Peace and enjoying it a whole lot... but

Hidden text highlight (or click) to view:

after the Golgotha, when the Doctor, Misery and Balrog decide to go Metroid on me setting up a freaking time bomb and unleashing a seemingly endless amount of green bats...

what am I supposed to do? Kill as many as I can? (Tried that, didn't seem to accomplish anything) Find a way out? (No idea how, seems I'm completely boxed)

I need to find some time to play these new versions (the latest one anyway). They deserve more feedback :)

Was on youtube today, and discovered Cave Story 2 by accident! (2nohito is the creator?? Very nice!)
I haven't been keeping up with the latest mods, but this one looks quite good!

Here's the video I watched :
(Warning loud!)

Here's a question... what is the general consensus on translating a mod?
Do I need to obtain permission first? Or is it okay to just translate and release it unofficially amongst ourselves?

The thing is, I don't know japanese, but I can usually slowly hand/machine translate my through. (At least I've done this in the past.) So, that's why I'm not sure about seeking permission. If I can't do them justice... D:

EDIT :

Oooo... I forgot how long it takes me to translate without knowing the language ><

I just did the intro and first area, and am remembering why I stopped translating last time.

<JPN>

<ENG?>
I'm glad to meet you. I'm Japanese Cave Story MOD maker.

What came here is because I thought that I want to know wrong in the sentence in < Sacred Ground Trainer v2.2 (ENG) > that is MOD which I made.
In addition, I am interested whether the data which I made in Japan do not become funny in a foreign country.
Of course my most anxious thing is that everybody enjoys it or not.

If there is a person good at Japanese, please DL my MOD < Boost Mania > at my homepage, and play it.

I found a couple of problems:
-Trying to take the Nemesis will instead call the Heavy Press training prompt.
-Accessing the Debug terminals causes the game to crash upon trying to enter the Sacred Grounds.

Your English is fine though, and I enjoy the way you've set the starting room up. Nice work! :D

So, you thought I forgot my own thread, didn't you? Not a chance.

I haven't gotten back on the bandwagon yet, because I'm actually legit swamped with ten-thousand things I need to be doing. BUT, I did start a new category list of mods. I'll post it here. Next time I have an actual update, I'll add it to the main post.

The CaveEditor v0.99d by Wistil, what I have been using to try to make my own mods, has been translated to Japanese recently by someone. See the links with "0.99 patch".
