I might warn you, it is somewhat arbitrary.

Noxid:
([time since joined in seconds]/1000)+1000000+([user id]%2000)

Everyone else:
([time since joined in seconds]/10000)+([user id]%200)

Hmm.. it seems to have dropped. How did that happen? :p

I was just wondering if the online status next to someone's username in their post is permanently gone or not.
Sorry, that was my fault. Fixed btw.

This is really bizarre and unnecessary; I love it

Now, postcount. I don't care much about postcount, how much someone has posted doesn't say anything about how good that person is or the quality of those posts.

But the cat count. The cat count is making me very sad. :<

D: So much cat...my allergies will be kicking in any second now. *sneezes*

Anyways, I logged out of my account to look at some of the questions. What's the difference between a security and a registration? I would have thought the reCAPTCHA process would be enough to keep out the spambots, but clearly that isn't the case.

Captcha images can be read with image recognition software, forcing them to the point where they are now near unreadable by Humans as well. Question and answer fills that gap that captcha images cannot meet by using a test that no spambot can ever understand: the English language. Of course the downside of this is that you have to make up your own questions.

We've always used a single question, haven't we? Would a randomly generated question from a list work better?

Not sure how relevant this is, but is the cat count a permanent thing?

We already do that. We have a list of 4 questions of which one is chosen at random. The point is that we need new questions. You can't just grab these questions from some online resource because you can be sure that spambots will be using same said resource, you have to make them up yourself, that is the whole point of this thread.

Sell your soul to the cat-devil, or become seriously mentally ill to the point that you're even more of a cat-o-holic than I

What no
I meant a list that we make, not some dumb questions from somewhere else

Any tips on how to beat Noxid in the cat count?
^this is not a verification question, btw
Check that post where I explained how this is all calculated and you'll understand why this is impossible.
Uh.. guys? I still need a few more questions. Preferably ones that only require common knowledge to solve.

Aaaand I never got around to adding those questions.

It's done now though. Hopefully with the result being less spam.
