Is there really a vailid reason for posting about a project but not supplying and demos/releases before the author disappears?

1) In order to make a thread for your mod, it must contain either a link to a demo or at least two screenshots showing what has been changed.
also how are we supposed to know if they're going to disappear and how are we supposed to punish them if they're not here

the only thing i see wrong is that it's in modding discussion for some reason

Couldn't you just add a separate player entity, the one you can control, in the code, then have a separate control scheme? I'm just an idiot who has only changed the title music and the direction of the giant pigneon's knockback, but it seems like that is how it might work, but again, I am an idiot.

That would cause all sorts of problems. The camera would try to follow both players at the same time and fall in the middle. All events could be triggered by both players and affect both players. All health (one takes damage and they both do), ammo, weapons, weapon switches, etc. would be shared by the players. So both players would fight each other over everything.

The only way for this to happen is if somebody created a replica Cave Story with their own code and then added new features and a way to handle all the problems andwhyisit named.

If you want to do it in the original game, then you're out of luck.

Or just make a split screen mode... It doesn't even have to have the same story. Heck, make it Cave Story 2! I'm sorry for not making my sarcasm clear...

Instead of creating 2 instances of the player you want to create two instances of EVERYTHING?! How is that better? Building your own engine would be much faster than trying to splitscreen CS in assembly.

Your only option would be some Curly edit, if you don't mind player 2 being completely invulnerable and locked into only one weapon.

Going to reprogram the game from scratch, random bugs, extremely messy code, yadda yadda yadda.

F.A.Q.
Q: Game crashes when I start the game, WTF?
A: The music engine crashes sometimes on first start for some reason, try again.

Q: It still crashes...
A: I don't really know how to help you there.

Q: What's with all the "Quotes" in the custom skin section?
A: Every player has to have a unique player skin for the custom skin feature to work properly. If 2 players choose the same player skin, only one custom skin will be shown on both of them.

Q: Do I need to send the custom skins to my friends?
A: The game sends the skins to the other players automatically, though it is not 100% reliable. Sometimes it sends, sometimes it doesn't.

Q: Yo, some stuff is missing, such as the prompt for retrying.
A: I never got around to adding it.
