I wouldn't think so. You need the rom anyway.
I played it and finally finished it this summer. I was spoiled to the ending beforehand and STILL cried.
Maybe I'm a wuss, but damn...

Gonna play Earthbound first, I loved my old Snes games, have them on roms. I might as well try this out if its as good as people are saying it is :mahin:
