Most Well written Cave Story song.

Gravity has got to be my favorite track, could listen to it for hours!

It reminds me of Balrog, every time i hear it, since it's the first time you ever hear the song.

 

If i was in CS and had to kill the undead core i think id perform 200% better if last battle was playing

 

Upon recent playthroughs I've discovered Balcony to be a personal favorite.

You're right, not quite sure why he mentioned it. Plus it's sunset3, never made one called sunset2 I think. And it's just a remake of sunset park act 3 from sonic triple trouble.

I think I've answered this before, but really it's hard to choose. There's just too many good songs in the game to pick a favourite.

It kinda is. It's a cave story track, but not really. Since the thread was unspecific as to whether or not we could include beta tracks that didn't make it into the finished game, I think it's fair to say that wind fortress can be included on his list.

It's also one of my favs too.

I just listened to Ice Fortress yesterday and it's quite nice.
Shame it didn't make it into the game.

As long as you guys are talking about beta tracks, my favorite of those--and probably my favorite Cave Story-related song ever--is the remix of the main theme in the old doukutsu bgm orgplayer. I have no idea what its english title is.\
*edit* and just found out through searching Youtube. It's called "Pier Walk". Man, this song RULES.

In the main game, my favorite songs are Geothermal and Running Hell, though I love all of them really.

From what I could tell from the japanese title, it could be translated as either or. However, in context to cavestory, I'd say it would make much more sense to be wind fortress. (this is what HAPPENS when we choose to write things in hiragana instead of kanji!). It's probably much more likely that it's wind fortress.

How I translate it personally though is different; Stronghold of the Wind. That's just an issue of word choice, though.

No idea, but I like to call it Wind Fortress because, you know, floating island, and there are obviously some structures on it.
It's very difficult for me to decide how People of the Root and Wind Fortress compare to the rest of the soundtrack, because I only found them very recently, and they don't have any characters or imagery to match up with, save for what I imagine. I'm fairly sure that I really like Wind Fortress, though. Quite possibly one of my favorites.

- The Way Back Home

- Wind Fortress

 

If you listen to wind fortress (stronghold of the wind) carefully, you'll notice it uses the same instrument set as moonsong, and outer wall does have lots of wind, so I prepose it was originally going to be used as outer wall music, but perhaps it was just to upbeat for the job so it got replaced. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this belongs in the theories section, but My arguement Stands.

Ps on YouTube, upon searching for "cavestory beta tracks" you will find a whole set of 13 beta songs, not all of them, but you can get an mp3 bundle with all of the songs on the channel (most of which, for some reason, are named "Plant," but the videos have the proper names.

 

Download this hunk of awesome. And some video on Youtube called the untitled track "Rock." Who knows if that's correct.
