Wow, is that true? I did some research, but I couldn't find a reason why. I guess I am just one of a handful of lucky people who will get to continue experience the joys of MEME RUN.

Apparently it was because the game had stolen content. For example, the gun that can appear during gameplay was taken from Call of Duty. Also, it's not just the game, the Miiverse community for it has been removed as well. This is exactly what happened with Jumpy Cat, the developers stole art assets as well as ideas other devs made for mobile devices. And no, they didn't give credit to the original people either.
It's no wonder why Nintendo pulled the game from their service.

Well, its a shame that this game got removed.
But still, it kinda does look like some cheap flash game you'd find on some shady website, and I honestly wouldn't buy it for 5.00$, despite all its wonderfully stolen memes.
Oh well Meme Run, you were the greatest blessing to gaming.
Let us all have a moment of silence for the greatest game in all of gaming history since Half Life 3.
(I know what you're thinking, but I don't care if its even developed or not: Half Life 3 is the single greatest non-existent pc game on this planet)
Keep your chin up, fellow MEMERS! Unsurprisingly there seems to have been a copyright issue involving MEME RUN, so we can probably expect it back up when the dispute has been settled in a slightly different capacity. (Source)
