Okay guys, Kero Blaster is freaking awesome, and yet it seems that nobody really cares. We need to start developing ideas for mods, our better programmers could try and make our KB tools better, and with just a little elbow grease, we could get an awesome modding community for this game! All it takes is a couple mods to inspire people to make their own! Let's get this thing started!

If you're willing to take the time to make the mod then you might be able to make the best one.
Also I know that you guys are probably going to yell at me, PSP mods are hard to make, nobody cares because we have a working computer, we're too lazy to make PSP ports, but will somebody pleeeease make a PSP mod of something already?

Calm down jofish, I understand that you want the PSP mod ports, I'm trying to work on something for that. Kero Blaster isn't on PSP though, and we legally can't port it over. So I'm sorry, but even if a KB mod comes out and somebody has the time and resources to port it, it can't happen.

Self-incrimination at its finest my friends. SWIM may pirate something occasionally, but he'd never do something to rob an independent game developer of such greatness as Pixel of a few dollars for a game that deserves the money.

At least you realize that. That means you must be twelve and a half.

Indy devs. need money to make games, and pixel is one of the best. Therefor, we should give him a large sum of money instead of pirating Kero Blaster. Also, we would need a way to have a mod applying thing that will apply the files, like plus porter, so it can actually be legal to mod.

Crap, I hadn't thought about that haha. My first idea would be something like IPS patches, but that wouldn't work in this situation :/

That'd be interesting, but it would most likely end up being a fan-game and not a mod since it would probably be easier to make an RPG engine / use RPG Maker than it would be to make the CS engine function like that.

Also, let's please try to keep this on the topic of figuring out how to start a Kero Blaster modding community.

I have no experience in most types of coding sadly. But I can pitch in a few ideas:

Something that allows you to edit the graphics in Kero Blaster.

Something that allows you to edit the sounds in Kero Blaster.

Something that allows you to edit the physics in Kero Blaster.

Something that allows you to edit the text in Kero Blaster.

Something that allows you to edit the weaponry in Kero Blaster.

Something that allows you to edit the Kero Blaster in Kero Blaster.

There we go, Kero Editor.

First, we should find a way to compile all the data into an exe.
Second, we start working on the tools so that they edit the compiled exe.
Third, we create IPS patches for said exe.

If we are able to do this, it will make modding legal, as we won't be supplying the executable.

See my top post on the next page.
