Just suggesting a few things about layout. This is is a "what do you think" suggestion...just to be clear.

There seems to be alot of sub-forums and it seems kinda hard to find things...

EDIT: *Section for New People containing information....

General Chat
*Landing Zone (Coming in as a new person I myself found it kind of hard to find where to say Hi and introduce myself.)
Subtitle: Don't be shy... Say Hi!
*General Chat (Sub-forums: Forum-Based Games and The SPOT and Birthday Greetings)
*Creative section (You can have like drawings...etc...)
*Jokes, videos, other stuff... (so like a Media section...kinda)
*Gamer's Lounge (Same sub-forums)

Doukutsu Monogatari/Cave Story Forums
Keep everything the same here.

Idk what you guys think.... I think just make things a bit Easier to find. Things can get a bit messy with so many people...

The sub-forums can be more easily navigated by just using forums search.

 

They'll release Half-Life 3 before we change the layout. Mostly because it works.

The Rules and Announcements forum is the "New People Section."
We have a thread stickied in the Satellite Lounge for people to introduce themselves. We're not big enough to justify having an entire sub-forum for that.
I think that as far as Cave Story creativity goes, we have the appropriate threads/forums for that. But for general stuff, perhaps we could use something more distinct than the Media subforum.

When I joined I didn't have much trouble finding things. Consider it a test, then.

 

I guess you guys are probably right...it's just takes a bit to get used to Even if the welcoming sticky is there it's not easy to find... any how I suspect I'm probably the only who feels this way so don't worry about anything I have said before

Oh one other thing. Once I've read a new post and gone back to the index page and refreshed it still usually says that it's still a new post. Is this just my messed up computer??

 

The new posts will stay such until you logout or hit Mark Forums Read.
I personally just use the New Posts button and pay attention to which ones are bolded (unread)

For some reason that's always been wonky for me. Some threads are only bold after I post in them, others remain bold after I read them, and some others work fine.

It is a serious conundrum.

 

Same for me. I don't see why it should go bold when I post in it....cause I wrote it. Anyway

 

Threads go bold when your post starts a new page. So by default, if I write post #11, it will be on the top of page 2 and the thread will be marked as unread and raeg ensues.
I'm fairly sure this problem can't be fixed by DoubleThink.

Edit: Nup...posted this and it's not a new page. This section still went bold and all the other sections were already read.

 

It's not like we see new faces all the time. These changes would make sense if we had more people coming all the time.

Errr... We kind of had a big discussion about this on another thread, you're kinda late.

 

this new design is much worse than the older one.
sure you see all forums at once, which is totally unnecessary by the way -
but everything pops out to your eyes. especially with the skin im using that uses animated GIFS for read / unread forums, and its just messy and awkward.

 

I do admit there is much more stuff on the screen, but I like knowing when someone posted (I guess it makes it easier on this format). Mabye Andwhy can change it to different forum layouts? I really don't know how vBulletin works.

And mabye you should change your skin to MY EYES!!, Voyce.
