It was a Chinese person who wanted to translate Cave Story to Chinese but then Cave Story executable would crash with Chinese characters being used so this Chinese person informed Pixel about the issue then Pixel made a fix and had named the version number as 1.0.0.7 and asked the Chinese person to try it and use Chinese characters on it.

Current editors are being tested and used with version 1.0.0.6. I don't know if they test it with v1.0.0.7. So, it is better to stick with v1.0.0.6 or use v1.0.0.7 if you're going to put Chinese characters.

doukutsu monogatari 1.0.0.7 is (to players) exactly the same as doukutsu monogatari 1.0.0.6 is. i see no reason for it to be retranslated
