Kitten Battle Dungeon is a platformer adventure game with elements of exploration, fast paced platforming, and duels with tough enemies.

Using the latest in cat technology we're trying to make something fun. The game is roughly 20% completed
as the engine is up and running and now we need to just start pumping out maps and characters. We'll be posting here as often as possible to keep anyone interested updated as well as forcing ourselves to make progress by having someone waiting for it.

Here's a little gif of the game in motion, all art is up for change.

This is using it
more or less, at least. so expect it to be subject to extreme delays

So you know I have a RICH ROBUST LEVEL EDITOR for this ALREADY MADE so I can SPEND MORE TIME ON THE ACTUAL GAME

anyway I'm serious about this shit. This game is gonna be cat/10.

I'm doin pixels. Not character's though that's Tad. He should be here soon.

Also I'm doing the level design.

Did anybody notice the pixel cat in the animation has a pointed sword whilst the drawings give him a flat-tipped sword?

Just sayin'.

I kind of like the flat tip, it makes the hero's weapon a little more unique.

I completely agree.

Tad has been reanimating the character because he didn't like the initial design as seen in gif. The promo art is based on that design.

Cool there's a devlog here. Looking forward to playing this.
Will it have a hub type level structure? Exploration or Story Driven? & the aesthetics are great, however I feel the background is a little empty. Parralax scrolling Mountains in the distance & clouds would be cool. I figure what's in the gifs is just the needed assets for initial presentation, so I'm sure you guys have something like that already in mind.

We do have that background issue in mind. In terms of layout there will be a hub town but the game will have several tiny hubs and be mostly open.

A few types of parallax scrolling and various static background modes have already been implemented. We just don't have the art assets for em' yet.

I forgot to post this earlier, but I'm actually really looking forward to this! I like combaty platformers and I like cats, so a game that incorporates lots of both made by three people as talented as yourselves holds lots of potential. Of course, I have a snowman's chance in Shifting Sand Land of actually being able to play it when it comes out, but I don't mind. ^_^

And of course, I have full faith that you'll make plenty of progress and get it released. The Debug Cats who arrange our destinies smile upon you. :debug:

I'll be looking forward to future updates!

Oh man. That's great. :D Try saying it 5 times fast.

If the layout really is somewhat open that's a good start, IMO... I like the feel of having hub areas to return to.

Seeing all this really makes me want to make something like this myself. I can never concentrate on one large project, though. It's feels like it's too much to manage alone. I keep winding up making little things in my spare time. -_-;
