• Most people probably don't realise this, but this forum has had two editors for a number of years. One is the xenForo default editor, and the other is a custom editor I made years back I called BBCEd.

    All the settings for which editor you use was lost during the upgrade. You can find the setting under Account Settings > Preferences > Editor.

Kero Blaster Update: Zangyou Mode

So, yesterday after the release of Pink Heaven on the Playsim, they announced Kero Blaster Zangyou Mode (or roughly translated by Google, Overtime mode.) It's a free update to Kero Blaster and will be released on October 11th acording to the Playism page.

After the update the price will increase, but for everyone who have purchased the game before October 11th it will be a free update. [Or a pre-order discount if you are yet to buy it.]

Heavens, I can hardly believe that it's been more than a year since Kero Blaster was released :momo:

I'm excited for the update's release! I wonder what will set Overtime mode apart from New Game +/Extra mode. I'm sure it will be fun regardless :3

This might make me retry my single-heart run of the game I gave up on eight months ago.

Even with newgame+ weapons and the additional two points from jacket'n'jar, I shamefully gave up on the Ice level.

Just dropped on iOS! Seems to be a remixed hard mode of the original game, but it's not like the NG+, the stages are different but share the same names. Perhaps a whole new story as well? Doesn't seem to be up on PC yet, I'll be waiting.

EDIT1: Price increased on iOS from 4.99 to 5.99

EDIT2: Price just jumped to 9.99 on Playism so it must be out, going to verify

EDIT3: It's out! To get it just log in to your playism account and redownload the game (in case you didn't know)! Also file size seems huge (in pixel standards) because before the Game + Soundtrack was 2o MB and the update with soundtrack is 116 MB. Wonder why that is?

Check the filesize of the soundtrack. It sounds like he increased the quality of the soundtrack

Beat the game! It was a lot of fun! Not really sure if there's more in NG+ now (now called Omake), but it does seem like he put in some of those gray beetle things. Couple things though, first being that when I was testing out Omake after I beat Overtime, the room that had the Kuro Blaster is all.. weird. I don't know how to describe it but it's very strange. Other thing is that within the sprite files Kero has a whole set of black sprites, including ones for his head at the bottom and whatever else, but I don't know when it ever was used, and it wasn't in the original spriteset. Perhaps there's an Overtime NG+ after regular NG+? I have no idea honestly

Oh and yea soundtrack was 112 MB so that explains a lot haha

The game does not give me an "Overtime Mode" prompt. I have completed Boss Rush at least once on Omake Mode. Does anyone have a list of requirements?

*See the ending at least once

*Begin a new save game, and select "Overtime Mode"

*If there are no empty slots, please delete one
idk how the pc version handles this. Since I previously completed it on my ipad i was able to start it immediately

also this game has cheevos now

It did not.
I don't want to play through Kero Blaster yet another time, so I probably won't experience Overtime Mode for a while.
Here's a profile folder with overtime mode unlocked in case you still want to live stream it.
It doesn't have any save files, by the way.
Put the extracted profile folder in the rsc_k folder of a copy of Kero Blaster. profile.zip

With this update, I finally bought and played Kero Blaster...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It started a little slow (ironic since you're thrown in the action right away!) but I warmed up to it.
And by the new content I was wild about the game :3

Lots of character. Visually charming. Good music. That story... Cats... And Pixel's trademark gameplay...
Well done Pixel, well done...

(I kept calling the black cat Noxid... does he have another name?)
Finished Normal, Overtime, and Omake mode... Only three achievements... Wonder what the others are...?

Also, that gun and the journey to get it ............................................................................... unexpected.
PS - Pink Hour and Heaven were a great introduction

Little spoilers and speculation on achievements:

"Hard Day's Work - Beat Normal Mode
"Hot Springs - Beat Overtime Mode
"Boss Rush - Beat Extra Mode

I can only guess that the others are... max out weapons? max out health? min health? and lastly either an extra mode for Overtime, or a 100% completion one...

I remembered to grab this this afternoon, up to the third area of Overtime currently. It really steps up the challenge, new enemies and redesigned obstacles everywhere. Great to see this much effort put into an update :D
