Woodenrat do you even read people's responses to you?
Lol all of your responses are just "burn yourself" and "excuse me princess"

I do read them. My replies are like that because the person insults me.

Duuuuuuude............

That is some heeeeavy shit.

I didn't realise it was all so serious.
I remember the days (about a week ago) when everyone talked about random crap, and we all had a good laugh, now I just feel depressed.

Goodbye guys, leaving FOREVERRRRRRRR

jk.

Anyway, evidently there's some massive backstory to the whole thing that I had no clue about. To the Search Box!!

M'eh, SP is mostly exaggerating, imho. Basic summary: SP said he was going to leave a few months ago, and so we made some staffing changes, namely promoting DT to admin and making Noxid and GIRaka moderators. He just now gets around to actually leaving, and makes this thread pretty much just restating all the stuff he said earlier about why he's leaving.

As for the Ralren stuff, Ralren is basically a big drama king who keeps raegquitting the forums and then randomly reappearing. I think this his 4th raegquit, but I'm not really sure; I've lost count :sun:.

And there was also some weird stuff that happened around the time SP originally said he was leaving, like the banning of Fire1052 and MetaSeraphim.

That pretty much sums it up. If you really want all the gory details, I'll save you some searching and link you here.

Yeah I agree there are issues with the circlejerk in this forum. I started posting here and there not too long ago, and very soon someone sent me a vistor message, one essentially condescending in tone, and I believe its reasonable to say it was something along the lines of 'be nice to all the established users and suck our dicks and one day you can be in the circlejerk too'.

Almost all forums have egoists and personality cults. This forum is pretty typical in this respect. In others its hard for the new users to get acquianted and they have to suck dick for ages before they are 'accepted'.

SP is around the same age as me and I think he, like me, has gotten to the point where he sees all this as childish and boring. Personally what I like in a forum is lively discussion on a subject I like, where there are lots of experts on the subject who are eager to share their knowledge, lots of creativity, and where talks about other users and circlejerk and such as kept to a minimum. Two examples of forums like this which I regularly post on are tohno-chan.com and whirlpool.net.au. I lurked cavestory forums for a few years before i registered and i do remember it was a fair bit more helpful back then, and I remember there were a ton of active modding projects. I was inspired and pumped to see so many guys who knew how to program and draw butting heads with each other and sharing techniques. Over time though these guys with useful skills found doing jobs in real life a better use for their intelligence, leaving behind the only other group with a significant investment in these forums (the 'elders').

Eh, I don't remember too much dick-ducking when I first joined o: I made a few theory threads, looked at mods, then left for a year.
Coming back, I dint remember any serious ass-kissing, I just kinda made some friends, and yeah.

You should probably disregard jetty and his noob-hatin', that's just what he does sometimes D:
I have no reason to dislike you, so I don't see why too many others would.
There has been a significant decrease in the ass-kissing feudal system here since a year ago, I would say now is a prime opportunity to be awesome and make friends and such.

Sinophile, we don't really have much to discuss in the way of Cave Story. The game came out in 2004 and we've talked every aspect of it to death. The only things we can do now are make up crackpot theories, help new people with the game, and make fun of Nicalis. The forums are now a place to socialize because we don't have actual things to discuss, except modding. Modding is the heart and soul of these forums, just remember that.

Most people have the decency to just leave the forum without a word and then come back randomly. (Taking a shot at the wannabe almighty, not the almighty himself.)
