Welcome to my fan project ''Ikachan Remake''!

The project aims to remake the game in Game Maker Studio and it's now in development.
Some of the project's goal include:

-Widescreen support (400x240) same as the Nintendo 3DS.
(You can change the resolution in game!)

-60 FPS instead of 50 FPS.

-Controller support

-Original soundtrack

-Original Graphics

-Open source!!!

We are planning to make the game just like the original PC version.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need help!

If you know GML and you want to help making this project then feel free to PM me.
And if you're going to help, then I suggest we should use a communication program called ''Slack'',
Slack is handy for communication and sharing files.

Is there a demo?

Not yet, but there will be one soon!

If you have any questions about this project please put them in the comments below and I do my best to answer them all.

Thanks in advance

Looks Great!

Do you plan to add in the extra features that the 3DS version had, or will you just be remaking the content that the original game had.

the resolution is indeed 400x240, but its upscaled to 1200x720,
you can change the resolution in game.

I want to!
but I never played the 3DS port because it's not available here in Europe:(
What extra features does the 3DS port have?

Its been a while since i've played the 3ds port, but from what I remember, it has

- a couple new enemies
- 1 or two changed spots here and there, and 1 new location on the map.

Thanks!
But changing a spot is kinda tricky, because the map is one background image with solids and objects in it,
so it won't be easy to tile it into the map.

That's always a nice feature.

Looks cool, I tried something like this in 2013 but I was shit at gm so I couldn't even get movement working right.
How far is it in development?

I started this project yesterday.
The things I have done now are:
-The main map
-The songs
-All the fishfoods and the sponge-like blocks placed in the map
-The title screen

I swapped those tiles with the original Ikachan
I just leave the tiles original in the remake. because the map is one whole background and it would be very hard to change all the tiles

Thanks:)!!
We are planning to make 3 save files and an heart based health system, I allready got the heart sprites from the 3DS version.
+ a new font.
But I am not sure about the new translation because you cant download the text and with the original Ikachan all the text is included in an text file.
Does anyone know which font the 3DS version uses?

I think the 3DS uses Eras Light ITC as its font. Hope that helps.

Heres some suggestions:

-Add twice the amount of frames to Ikachan (to look real but still pixelated.)

-Add some post game playability

-Make it open source (People love to mod it, just make sure they credit you)

-Lighting system (Game Maker studio supports shaders)

This makes absolutely no sense
I assume you mean "make the game run at 100 FPS" and that also doesn't make sense to do, due to game speed and other such things
Ever heard of a refresh rate?
