How to fix colors w/o Booster's Lab

I made a custom character using an NPC in NpcGuest.bmp (I converted the images to bmp with Booster's Lab) And I would like to use the character in non-modified versions of Cave Story. I renamed it to Pbm and it just displays an error and leaves a log:

Y:\nxengine\cavestory\data\MyChar.pbm,0

I tried to fix the palette in Cave Editor but it does not display it.
Will try to disable the (c) Pixel requirement and see if it works

We've already had that discussion. You really do not need to make a separate thread for the same question you've asked.

Also, none of the Cave Story editing software works with NxEngine. You're dealing with a lost cause.

You ask, you get answers. Simple as that. You can however, work on a regular mod with Vanilla and then move the Stage folder to your NxEngine directory. You can't use custom assembly, though (this includes mod loader). But, y'know already...

Whatever.

Oh noes, he said forbidden word "nxengine"...

Judging by pathname and log he is trying to use it with vanilla.

copy them over... use paint.net or something
save as 24-bit bitmap with transparent being #000000 full opacity
