From start to finish?
Hmm...
1 time for bad
3-4 times for normal
3 times for best

How many times have I beaten it though?
4 times for bad
12 times for normal
4 times for best

All just guesses though ~

I have started parts of the game over a lot more than played to the ending.

Believe it or not, I've actually never finished Cave Story. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the game. But every time I start playing, another new game happens to come out, and I get preoccupied. I'm aiming to dedicate a portion of my few months of vacation to finally finishing it.

months? you can take 3 hours to beat it if youre going fast and know the physics.. even less than 2 hours if youre super pro.

I took a month or so to beat it my first time through.
(ie it's not totally ridiculous)

well haven't beaten that much times

good ending 1
normal ending 4 or 5 times
bad ending 0 times(is that escaping the island prematurely?)

also my first time beating the game was dunno 8 9 hours after downloading(I'm an experienced platformer :awesomeface:)

Only once (played it for the first time ever earlyer this week), and got the "bad" ending (not knowing about different endings).
Then I googled about different endings in Cave Story.

Reloaded my save file and went on and got the "Normal" ending which in the end took me about 10 hours, im really good at Metroid-like platformers and Exploration, so I decided to look at every nook and cranny of the game (Yet I didnt know where to get the nemesis, spur, bubble gun, first playthrough ever.)

I've beat it... around five or six times.
First time I got the normal ending. I never let Curly die after that.

Well, like 5 or 6 times.

Bad Ending- 0
Normal Ending- 0
Good Ending- 5-6

Yeah, if I don't get the best, I just start over.

Good ending 7 and best ending 3

Obviously did the bad ending first time round but reset the game, Loaded the save and carried on :rolleyes:

I've gotten the Best ending 5 times and I have always gotten the Normal ending along the way.

(When I got wanted to take a break from dying in Hell)

In addition to that I've gotten the bad ending... 2 times out of that.

About 7 times (all the best ending with hell)...Once you play it you keep playing it again and again...usually you don't get bored. It becomes easier after a while. What I've done before is play with a second person and someone does the movement and the other person shoot's change weapons etc... It makes it a bit harder - Especially in hell xD

The last boss was just insanely hard for me, and by last boss i mean
Fighting the Core,Sue,and Misery
I never got the spur because i was in love with the recoil of the machine gun xD
So i only beat the game once :( i had to be a cheater and hack the game to fight ballos xD

I did that my first time too.

I got the best again, so
Worst- 0
Good- 0
Best- 6-7
