Having just started reading this topic and ignoring the Huzzah/Dorya stuff, why are they changing Grasstown to Bushland when there aren't any bushes? (at least by the english definition of bushes)

So far I like the AG translation better...

They're changing it because it's closer to the Japanese word, which means "Weedland" I think. It's in the Wiiware topic somewhere.

Eh...

They're not changing anything.
AG's translation is unoffical.
To Amaya, it's always been Bushland.

Well, they are changing it. AG's Translation is... the only one. So yeah. They kind of are.
Stop trying to be different, Lowell.
Um, I'm not being different.
This was already pointed out in another thread.
Even agreed with.

Haha I never even saw that thread. But IIRC Pixel doesn't know English, so I don't really see why he should be making choices in the English translation. Sure, staying faithful to the original game is good, but calling a place bushlands when there aren't any bushes? That just doesn't make sense.

Well, we don't really know if that's grass. We just assumed it, being called Grasstown in the unofficial version.
Bushes don't all look the same, either...
Besides, when does anything we name make sense?
Are we going to change Living Waterway because it's not really alive?
Is Sacred Grounds really sacred?
Is the Last Cave the last cave? {Wouldn't Sacred Grounds be a cave?}
Etc.

it sure looks like grass to me, especially in the higher res screenshots
Then what about all of the other "misleading" names...?
Point is, it's what Amaya's going to call it.
I'd rather follow his translations than the unofficial ones, no matter how much I dislike the new name for Grasstown...

Well the original game is in Japanese, not English. Some people tend to forget that.

Just found this one, small but it may be important. Huzzah, Balrog's catchphrase, is a LIE!!

As seen in the above screenshot, balrog actually shouts どりゃあ!!(dorya!), which is clearly not huzzah. The Huzzah we've all come to know and love is a great lie, fabricated by AG. Oh, how could they mistranslate so?

Probably not that notable of a translation though, both are just pretty much variants of an exclamation. Not to mention that I don't know how proper it would sound for someone to yell "DORYAA!" in an english translation.

Huzzah still sounds better.
Is there any translation for dorya?

"Dorya" is a one-worded battlecry. There is no real English equivalent as far as I am aware.

We already discussed that.
Dorya rox. Go screw you DC.
anyways:

Wtf? so you tell the creator to GTFO and let someone else do the translation.
I think (since Pixel is Japanese and Japanese are like the best in studying and such things) he can read/write/shit/w/e English.
You can't tell me he doesn't... YOU CAN'T. HE IS JAPANESE.
So I guess he will get someone to translate his thoughts into plain English.

Um, isn't that what Tyrone and the rest are doing?
{With Amaya's constant approval, of course}

I guess the word you're all looking for is "correction".
