Well, I've only played a little bit Majora's Mask. That's the only Zelda game I've played. So that's my favorite.
By default.

Personally i'm gonna slpit it up into two, 2D and 3D. because the 2D and 3D games are a different enough experience ot warrant it.

3D: Ocarina of time. It does matter how many times you replay it, it's still every bit as amazing as it was at first.

2D: Minish cap. Like A link to the past, but fun and exciting.

A link to the past is the only Zelda game i've played but never beaten, out of boredom. Twilight princess only barely got finished.

I've never played a lot of Zelda in my time, so I would have to say that the first one is my favorite. I have it on the Wii's Virtual Console and it is by far the Zelda game I have the most experience with.

3D: Majora's Mask, it doesn't get boring on a second playthrough (unlike Ocarina of Time...)

2D: Minish Cap, simply the highest quality 2D Zelda game, period.

I'm kind of a Zelda nerd, I own every game...

Ocarina of Time.

A classic of course. I like Majora's Mask too, but it feels more like a OoT mod because they basically used the same game engine.

I swear we had a thread that talked about Zelda stuff, but I can't find it.

Definately Majora's Mask.
Second place is Wind Waker and third is Twilight Princess (my personal little sinful pleasure).

I have only played 2 Zelda games, only 1 of which I have beaten. I beat the original Legend of Zelda, and I am currently playing through the 3D version of OoT now. So I guess my favorite would have to be the first since I have not even beat OoT?!

2 OoT

Yes, I already made this thread on the old forum's "Zeldas discussion board" but it didn't come with us.

Majora's Mask or LttP for me, I wrote a big long explaination OP on the other thread.

I know that this is the last Zelda game anyone was expecting, but my favourite was Oracle of Seasons.

I should also note that I've only played the 2d zelda games with the exception of the DS entries.

The Oracle games were underrated classics. I myself preferred Ages, becaus it was a little harder and darker. The minish cap dethroned both of them just out of sheer atmosphere. They are still both really great games. And they should be released as a composite game. Like S3 and K. For anyone that didnt know, they functioned both independantly and as a whole, extending the game beyond the independent games respective content.

I wrote this earlier, so I figured I'd post this here.

1. The Wind Waker
2. Majora's Mask
3. Twilight Princess
4. Ocarina of Time
5. The Minish Cap
6. A Link to the Past
7. Spirit Tracks
8. The Adventure of Link
9. Phantom Hourglass
10. Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons
11. Link's Awakening
12. The Legend of Zelda

I have not played Four Swords or Four Swords Adventures, so I can't say anything about those.
Also, I expect Skyward Sword to beat Wind Waker in terms of greatness.

Majora's by far. I didn't like the 3 days limit mechanic, but the atmosphere it's still the best (those kids inside Majora creeped me out when I was little).
