Favorite Weapon

I like the Blade. That's all I say.

If there was an ice-based weapon, I'd like that as well

 

I choose the machine gun....i don't know why but it my favorite...besides the blade!

 

As a guy who actually likes the bubbler (don'tkillmepls) The fireball is nice too. I found a very nice use for it while fighting the muscle doctor.

 

Indeed the Bubbler can be useful for the muscle Doctor. Of course these days I find the Blade/Super Missile Launcher much quicker, but it helped me the first time I played Cave Story. While it isn't my favorite weapon, the Bubbler does have its quality, and I still like it.

 

Machine Gun, without a second of hesitation.

Amusingly though, I only pick it when going for the normal end (meaning I won't have the Booster 2.0), going for the Spur when aiming for the best ending to further differentiate my playthroughs.

 

I'm way too used to the Spur to NOT pick it ._. Fully charge the thing, and BOOM! You get all 3 Whimsical Stars.

And a giant laser of death. What's not to like about it?

That's a close 2nd for me too

 

Yeah the Spur and the Blades are probably some of the the most powerful, but I voted for the Bubbler because I think it's the most creative weapon, and it's cool how it doubles as a shield. And it's just fun to fight with.

 

I'll rank them.

1. Snake. I really like this weapon. It shoots through walls, and has decent damage output too. It's also VERY helpful for Hell.
2. Blade. Decent damage. It'll always have a special place in my heart, though. Poor King.
3. Machine Gun. This is the weapon that does everything. It lets you fly, it has decent damage, great range...
4. Bubbler. It's fun to fight with, and very helpful for some bosses.
5. Spur. I like this one too, but it's really inconvenient how it has to charge so long, and it has the worst upgrade obtained at the Labyrinth.
6. Fireball. Not really that special. Great for Balfrog, but... meh.
7. Nemesis. I really don't like this one so much. Too many incompatible boss fights. Great when Curly uses it, not so much with Quote. Wait, how did Curly get one anyways?
8. Polar Star. Useless.
9. Missile Launcher/Super Missile Launcher. Really packs a punch, but very inconvenient. And unfortunately, it has no use on half the bosses. Misery's too fast, Curly has the shield, Balrog is too fast, The Doctor is too fast... Get where I'm going here?

 

I think it would be easier for me to name my least favorite..
Machine gun. Its a great thing to have when you first get it, but the later on boss fights make it completely useless. It is statistically better than the polar star in every way, but at least its a good replacement until you can snag a snake or let the gunsmith finish it.
Thinking about it, i would say the Spur is my favorite. It never loses energy from a hit, and with a bit of care has ridiculous range and power. The whimsical star addition is basically useless and i even turn it off sometimes in the plantation to avoid upsetting the... Big guys...
The weeapons in this game are really all pretty damned cool, its hard to pick a favorite.

probably mine is the fireball and the snake. why? well, the fireball does a butt ton of damage, levels easily, and is just so much fun to use.

Only one now. I merged all 7 or 8 of them. Two had polls that looked like carbon copies of each other anyway and I could only keep one poll. I might manually merge the results of the two at a later date if there is any interest in me doing so.
