• Most people probably don't realise this, but this forum has had two editors for a number of years. One is the xenForo default editor, and the other is a custom editor I made years back I called BBCEd.

    All the settings for which editor you use was lost during the upgrade. You can find the setting under Account Settings > Preferences > Editor.

"Failed to load content" Mobile RetroArch

Hello, when I play MODDED Cave Story in my mobile phone, it keeps showing "Failed to load content" on app named RetroArch.

But the original Cave Story (not mod) works fine.

I have a mod named "Boss Fight Rebuen" folder, and it works too but some others like Rave Story, ANS and Curly Story doesn't work.

It is because of the mod? NXEngine core? or EXE file?

Rave Story does have an amount of ASM in it, maybe that's why it won't run?

If I recall right Rave Story uses a few ASM hacks.
And I dare bet that RetroArch's cave story core uses the vanilla game as base for a lot of things, and will defenitely not support heavy asm hacks well.
I doubt any heavily hacked mods will be able to run on your phone since porting is something that practically doesnt exist, nor really needs to get done since playing cave story on a phone isn't pretty regardless.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with the source code of NXEngine, and the engine is pretty much hardcoded with vanilla Cave Story in-mind. You would have to rewrite and change a lot of the engine for a lot of Cave Story mods to work. It's definitely possible if you have the tenacity to do it, but in my opinion, it's not worth it.
