Everybody's dads in CS

If you take a close look at Cave Story, you'll see that there isn't a single father in the game.
Is it possible that in the CS universe no one need a dad?

But I still think Pixel is trying to hide the fathers from the game for some reasons.

 

Characters having one or both parents absent (DEEEEAAAAAAAAD) is a pretty common element/trope/whatever in series, actually. Not sure if it's Pixel hiding from us or just implementing a usual trope into his game.
