That's a very poor definition. I hope you actually understand what depression is and aren't just trying to prove a point.

The dictionary's definition of depression is different from the medical definition of clinical depression. Which is also different from whatever q3hardcore thinks it is.

de·pres·sion
dəˈpreSH(ə)n/
noun
  1. 1.
    feelings of severe despondency and dejection.
    "self-doubt creeps in and that swiftly turns to depression"
  2. 2.
    a long and severe recession in an economy or market.
    "the depression in the housing market"
    synonyms: recession, slump, decline, downturn, standstill;
That first one sounds a lot like sadness to me, although it depends on your definition of sadness.
the first one actually doesn't necessarily refer to sadness, but more a loss of hope or motivation which is a quality of those depressed. and no, that isn't what sadness means.

if you really want to use a dictionary for proof, use the Oxford English Dictionary, as that is the definitive record of the English language

Wait, how would that work? "I say this but think that?"
It's quite common with depression. A person may say they're fine, when they think they really aren't.

The "C" in "college" is for "crippling debt".

I honestly don't even remember what that post was directed to. I was probably wrong.
