I've recently got the idea of making a CaveStory mod, but in a team!

The steps of the project:

-Idea for the story
-Creating levels&making script
-Beta Testing part 1.
-Fix any glitches or bugs
-Beta Testing part 2.
-More levels&scripts.
-Beta testing part 3
-Fix glitches
-Final testing
-Release

I wouldn't mind but I would be a map creator and maybe Phantom might want to help script. I could help beta test also.

Why can't I lead also... Also there is a small problem. Different people have different ideas for levels and scripts, so every time theere is something good, there could be something bad after. It is only a minor thing

Yeah i know, but i'll re-arrange the levels i receive if they're good.

You are a good scripter so that can help this project which Jeff hasn't even talked about yet so I have no idea what to do yet. I guess he is waiting for more people to help.

Well... Shining's mod (Crowned Witch) has edited graphics. Maybe he could help for the images!

Django: Yes, i need more people, because i will need alot of talents to make this one done!


But it's not because i don't have a team yet, (three is a bit low for me)
that you can't discuss of the story!

What are the levels going to be more oriented for? like for shooting enemies, jumping, or fetch quests?

The levels won't be oriented towards a specific thing, it's just some king of Adventure game with

-sidequests
-fetch quests
-jumpin'
-shooting enemies
-and more...

I'd like to hear more about what you want to accomplish before deciding to help create or not. How much of the game do you want to change? Do you plan to hex and sprite edit all the enemys to make them completely different? Are you going to change entire tile sets to create different types of maps?

If you intend to lead this project (which I assume you do, because you brought it up) it will take quite a bit of organizing to keep everyone on task. You'd need to keep track of all the little details like flags used, and everyone would need to know all the major changes. If I were to design a map around say... dodging Basil's then once I finish it I'd find out that you plan to hex edit Basils into something completely different for later use in the mod, I'd be very unhappy and want to quit.

I think this is a great idea, and upon hearing more about it I will most likely want to help you with map making and scripting. Even If I don't decide to help create, I will be glad to help you playtest through out the creative process.

Well, i would keep Basil. It's a cool one.

BTW, i don't know at all how to hex edit the entities. (except giving the HP and damage.

About your first question, SeriousFace:

Well, it depends on what story is selected.

But i'm sure we'll have at least 1 tileset edit.

Well...

i have a few, tell me what is the best one.

Story 1:
Just after Quote and co. found a spot to relax for the rest of their lives,
something goes horribly wrong.

Somebody has made a base in the space to cause chaos in the universe.

Now, Curly, Balrog and Quote must get to the base.

What will happen?

Story 2:
After the island crashes, Sue wants to look at the world she hadn't saw for long.

But she doesn't come back.
What has happened?

Quote must go to find out.

Well, i will also edit the images and the make NPC.TBL editing (U can give me a entry in all things, but i can't design orgs !! Well, maybe u make a ALLROUND Category??)

I can also upload it at filespace!

Edit: lol, maybe it looks wreid but i DON'T want to show off!
I just love the game!
Lets make a mod!
