As a result of seeing links to image scalers on the Nicalis blog, I decided to apply some scalers to the best art in Cave Story.
And it looks stunning.

(sorry about .rar.zip - needed something the forum would allow.)

Yeah, it's telling me I don't have privileges to download attachments, which is depressing. I'm pretty interested in a foresight as to what WiiWare Cave Story will end up looking like.

Odd, but helpful. XD

The images are definitely a lot more smooth after using the scaler.

Ballos' sprite looked a lot more eerie after being changed. XD

I personally find the scaled image not very smooth.

Did you use a computer program to scale it?

If you did, I'd rather you handscale it, it turns out much neater.

...What? Isn't all scaling done with a computer program?

I mean scaling with a computer program as in, like using the program to scale it automatically rather than using the line tool to resize the sprite and dot-by-dot resize it.

Err SP-san, isn't this quite a weird problem we have here?

It can, just that you'll have half of someone's face for another person's face usually

edit
Yes, that's what I did. Automatic scaling.
You make my puppies sad.

Though I don't have any, they're still sad.
