Cave Story+ Save Editor - v1.3.4

Old topic!

If the last post is over 6 months old, it may instead be a better idea to start a new topic. If you aren't sure about what to do, feel free to ask a staff member for help, or try to locate a 'general questions'-type thread if it exists in this (sub-)forum.

Thankyou!!

Cave Story is a very interesting game to work on. Pixels work is amazing. His coding is so efficient, and easy to read. It blows my mind how such a game can be so in depth, and yet only take a mere 5.23 Mb. My program, as simple as it is, is over 6Mb.

Please, leave any feedback or suggestions. I would love to be told how i should design it from a users perspective.

I'll give feedback when I can! I can't download this at the moment.

I agree that Pixel's an awesome programmer. It's the only reason someone like me can make a mod, really.

And you're welcome :D

Hahah
Pixel's coding is average at best. It's small because he wrote it in pure C++ whereas you're using an atrocious API and framework that inflates programs to near fetishistic levels. But, he does many things inefficiently and has a bunch of weird habits that show up in the code if you really look at the disassembly. In my work hacking cave story there's been many a moment where I've just seen what he's done and said "Whyyyyyy"

Sorry about that. I had a free account with dropbox, with many links all over the internet. This exceeded the traffic limit.

Here is a better link:

I'm glad to see this program gets used, as basic as it is. Also, let me know if you'd like anything changed to make it easier to use.
Being currently the only CS+ save editor, it deserves to be more user-friendly.

By all means, distribute at will. There is no EULA, and you are free to do what you want with it.

I apologise, but support for Curly Story is not supported. I have not been able to save Curly, and have no save file to test with. In the future, I may eventually add support, but that could take years.

Edit: Support added in v1.3.5
